Genetics/Diversity

People with straight hair have a round shaft like O
Curlies have a S
Wavies have a Z or it might be 0

Straight is recessive
Curly is Dominant
And Wavy= ??????????

In simple terms a dominant gene will overtake a recessive gene.

A child that has a parent with curly hair and one with straight will most likely have curly hair unless the curly parent has half of a straight gene..

Do you get it?.

It is genetic, but as far as I know, it has to do with the shape of the follicles(holes that the hair grows from). If I remember correctly, oval shaped follicles create wavy hair, circular creates straight hair, and I forget what shape makes curly. It was all in my health class in 10th grade, but I didn't really pay attention.

I believe it has to do with the shape of the hair shaft (round vs. flat).. This sounds like a good Wikipedia search.
