a place where we can learn about atheism.

where we can bring the brain washed kids to learn about Richard Dawkins and science.

where we can discuss who to vote for.

its not fair that religious people have a place to go and that we don't.

it offends me that we don't have any leaders to vote for.

Dude, I agree with you completely.
Or even better, kids get the option to take either 'religion' in school, or 'atheist class' lol
that would be cool.
I think there is such a thing, I do Ethics in school.
but there you only learn right from wrong... so yeah.
I personally woukld love to have a place to go to and learn about this stuff.
But hey you know, I know who I am.. I know what I believe in and I have given it a lot of thought.
So as long as you believe truely in what you believe in you don't need any ranting and raving about it. lets not be like them indoctrinating religious folks u know?

Atheism is not a religion. A church is a Christian place of worship. Science is not a religion either and will not help you prove that atheism is the right way. There are many groups you can join, just do some research. Richard Dawkins is just a man who wrote a book, has he cured cancer or Aids? No. You seem to be the brainwashed one since you think that atheism means that you can't be a member of society regardless of beliefs or disbeliefs. Learn to have love for all and stop trying to marginalise yourself. I learnt about science and quite frankly I love learning about how things work etc. that has not stopped me following my religion since science is not the alternative to religion. For a start, although I am not Christian, I know that initially the Church actually funded scientific experiments and whereas cancer research/HIV-Aids is concerned still does. Some of the greatest scientists around are theists. There is nothing to learn about atheism, it just means not believing in God(s). What do you want, to have us all segregated? Have shops that say "atheists only"? Consider what you are implying, as there will be people who agree with your views however wrong they may be.

Nope, sorry I don't think that's a good idea.
I was raised catholic and thank god (snicker) I was taught science and paid attention.
One of the things that bugged me the most and helped in my conversion to atheism is church. What a horrible waste of time every Sunday morning, I have much better things to do.
You want to get together with me and talk about stuff, bring a 12 pack over or I'll meet you somewhere for a beer and smoke!

No, that would be silly. Being an atheist, there is nothing to learn. There is nothing to worship.

You are confusing atheists with scientists.

I agree, and am offended that we don't have atheist politicians to vote for. But churches aren't the solution.

The problem with a lot of people, like yourself, who believe they are atheists, is that they treat it as another form of religion. It isn't. It is a lack of belief in a god or higher spiritual power. The rest of us atheists would really appreciate it if you'd quit trying to lump us all together into some kind of weird sect. I identify myself by what I am, not by what I am not.

To my knowledge, there is nothing stopping you from having a meeting place. And if you would like to vote for an Atheist leader just get your supports and get them on a ballot, there is no law that say you can't.

A church? No. That would be needlessly offensive to those who worship fake things. But we could have Atheist Centers where people could go to ask questions about their own religions and maybe get REAL, TRUTHFUL answers. But not yet...not in America anyway.

So you want to create another organized religion basically? Really? Is that your way of going against orgainzed religion?

The beauty about atheism is not having an organization, don't you think?

No, you can learn about it online. Atheism is not a religion and most of the true atheist I know do not want to be seen as one or have a "church".
