With LCD you have more choices than with plasma. Don't waste your money on Sharp or Samsung as you can get a Spectroniq (made by Protron) for much less with comparable picture quality.

In fact, I challenge you to see a difference between a Sharp and a Spectroniq side by side. They will all last about 20 yrs and there is no compromise in quality.

With Sharp and Samsung you are just paying for a name (in this case). With a Plasma set you have to be very careful though and I wouldn't even consider an off brand over Panasonic or Pioneer.

Many Sharp Aquos have uniformity problems, and Samsung is not as good in picture quality as the Sharp. At this point the Sony Bravia is probably the best available LCD flat panel display, but it is more expensive than either the Sharp or Samsung. If you do go for a Sony, test it in the store (if they will let you) by looking at a dark screen (turn the brightness down). The screen should be uniformly black; do not accept the set if it shows white "clouds". If you cannot test it before delivery, make sure the store will take it back if it has this defect. Also, in comparing prices and quality, make sure you compare equivalent models, not an earlier version of one against a later version of another. Check the model numbers and go to the manufacturer' web site (or call them) to find out if you are looking at the latest model (don't ask the salesperson unless you are dealing with a high-end store).

i've got heard that the pointy Aquos has very great determination. yet purely as a tenet i might g with a Samsung. I actually have a Samsung HDTV and the television is great. the toughness and existence span is a lot greater ideal than different companies, yet favourite i've got come to discover that Sony TVs by ability of a few distance final the longest and have the wonderful determination a hazard. properly it is from my journey. properly sturdy luck choosing.

lol!

All three of those are JUNK!

Protron will not last 20years DA. Youd be lucky if you got a year. Same with Samsung.

Samsung and Phillips are THE worst brands with the highest failure rates out there.

If you really want quality, its going to cost a bit more.

Get a Sony 46" Bravia LCD.

You have to realize that Samsung overall has a better write up and review everywhere you look...but what are the specs? 720p, 1080i, etc? Compare specs first...if it is a tie on all ends, stick with the Samsung.
