I think it goes along with having strong opinions based on little actual support or reasoning.

How about this:
I have no need to learn about any other religions, because I already know they are all false. How do I know this? Well, Ive heard a little about each one and have come to the conclusion they are wrong based upon my own personal experiences. And Lord knows - my personal experiences are never wrong.
Thats profound ignorance.

Ignorance is "ignore" ance.
I ignore something because I do not want to deal with it.
Profound ignorance to me would be blatant, published and unabashed ignoring of critical information without regard for the consequences.
