kids these days stay indoors more than they play outside. Technology, Television, Internet, and laziness are making kids less active than they should be. It doesn't help them become smarter or help them get stronger. What do you think?

I agree that they spend much more time inside. There's a lot more fun stuff to do inside now, and houses are usually bigger than they used to be, so they are not constantly in each other's way.

But, think about this. When we were kids, it was nothing to run off through the neighborhood to your friends, riding your bike, playing ball, etc., as long as you were home by dark. But now, because of crazies, it's not as safe, and therefore, parents don't want their kids outside if they can't be there watching them. And how fun is it for the kids with Mom or Dad watching everything? That's just a thought.

I saw this addressed on the morning news. An answer they posed rather surprised me.
Neighborhoods today are not as safe as they were a generation or two ago. Parents are not allowing children out to play with adult supervision. Parents who are working until the evening hours just don't have afternoon time to give to their children for supervised outdoor play.

I agree kids don't spend alot of time outdoors now days. I would also say though if they would run a couple of mile a day then it wouldn't matter. It would only take 20 minutes at the most.

They do not receive the same stimulation that they do outdoors. If they are constantly over stimulated by the devices indoors, then why would they leave. They feel let down when outside and get bored easily.

This is just my opinion though.

I agree. But don't blame the kids. They need to be taught by example. Parents are their mentors & primary teachers. The change has to always begin with the adults in their lives.
