Do these Christians still disagree among themselves about whether or not Jesus is God? If so, what do they believe? Also, how do they differ from denominational christians? Is the only difference that they do not accept a religion by name such as Baptist, Pentecostal, Jehovah Witness, Seventh Day Adventists, and other? Or are there other differences?

a non-denominational Christian is one who seeks God thru the word and prayer and the Spirit, who does not allow the boundries that are set in denominations... nor follows doctrine that is man made to hold its members in bondage by requirements to be members, requirements 'of' members' and the things they can, cannot do, should say, should attend, etc.

Most non-denominational Christians that I have met are like believers to me.... They understand that the Trinity is 3 parts and yet one... that Jesus was fully God and fully Man, perfect in spirit and yet vulnerable in the flesh to death here on earth. They believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that thru His death on the cross, the blood atonement for the sins of mankind has been shed, and no longer is any sacrifice needed.. .as Jesus was the perfect lamb. They have committed themselves to Jesus, thru accepting Him as Savior, and rely on the Bible and the Holy Spirit to help guide them thru life.

they do not claim a 'religion' because it was the religous zealots of Jesus time who crucified Him, they demanded His death because they did not like anything he did or said... the pharisees rejected the very cornerstone, just as the prophets foretold.

while there may be other differences, we choose to agree to disagree... but still are willing to learn from others and share the wisdom that God gives different people.

They also believe (many anyways) that God is still giving the gifts of the Spirit~prophecy, tongues, healing, preaching, teaching, and more

We explain God and Jesus as the bible does, we believe in the bible.
We enjoy the freedom of believing without having to only contribute to society as allowed by a governing body of men. ie.. your church can't open a "soup kitchen" in that area, you can not support that cause, don't allow pants to be worn by women, only men can teach, (the first message was carried by women.) The church I attend I guess would be considered pentecostal based, but we have an ordained baptist minister and an assemblies of God trained minister, and one Holiness minister. No divisions just worshiping God. We have members that were Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, and catholic.
and in some cases a denomination won't back a church if they don't like the area it's in. we were at a church that left the assemblies of God because of that reason.
we're all working for the same goal, getting souls to Heaven.

I go to a non-denominational church and I am a born again christian. The only real difference to me coming from a catholic church is the whole ritualistic thing. At my non-denominational church all preaching comes from the Bible...and we believe that Jesus Christ is truly God in human form who was sent by God the father to be the ultimate sacrifice for the worlds sin. At the non-denominational church all emphasis is put on the deity of Christ.

I suppose you would have to ask each one individually. I don't have any strong attachment to any particular denomination, but I think some are closer to the Truth than others; but even that is a constantly changing thing. I believe in Jesus Christ and in the Bible as the Word of God and the only necessary authority in my life. Of course if you know the Bible, you will understand how the Bible itself qualifies my statement.

I've all these statements all seem to agree

Non denom...s and denom....s are just man made.

Why if you jump from one man made church would
you fall into another. Jesus never built a non or a denom.

Some of you said the reasons you joined nons because
it's not restrictive (to) only men preach, having NO soup kitchen, certain areas of worship etc. And others have said God never built the Baptist Pentacostal Jehovahs W 7thday and the rest. Well what about the church He did say He built are you willing to add aniother name to the BIBLE when He clearly denounces any addition or subtract what His church
tells you not to do and how to do it (Rev 22.18ff)

So what makes your NON better or not better more accurate to God's Holy and Divine Word?

Do any of you see that making up a church non or denom is
still not the church of Christ the very reason we are called
Christ ians in the first place.(ACTS 11:26:RM 16:16)

READ JOB 32-38 AND SEE WHAT ELIHU AND GOD HAD TO SAY ABOUT THOSE WHO THINK THEY CAN MAKE HIS WORD BETTER.

NONE OF US IS GOOD ENOUGH AND NONE OF US WERE THERE WHEN HE PUT THIS EARTH AND SKY TOGETHER

Why can't we sit down do just what the BIBLE says to do
and the church that CHRIST (MTT 16:16-18) built will grow mightily and prosper, then we won't have atheist that say we can't agree. Their right !!,
when we stop picking and choosing what we like and not we will be in one accord and thats when the church shall recieve its crown people will flock to it because they will see FAITHFULNESS IN HIS WORD AND NOT OUR OWN...

A non-denominational Christian is a self-professed follower of Christ that does not believe in being a member of any specific sect of Christianity (i.e. Mormons, JW's, Baptists, Catholics, Methodists, etc.).

They say that they rely solely on the Bible and not any creedal system set up by any particular Christian Church. So in order to know their beliefs you'll have to know the Bible and the many particular intepretations thereof. Their beliefs may vary. As to your last question, I think that may be the only difference. They just don't ascribe to one particular sect.

In Christianity, the term non-denominational refers to those churches which have not formally aligned themselves with an established denomination. Non-denominational churches establish their own internal means and methods of policy and worship without interference from the policies and worship practices of regional, national, or multinational organizations. Members of non-denominational churches often consider themselves simply "Christians", and many feel at home when visiting any number of other denominational churches with compatible beliefs.

On the other hand, some non-denominational churches consciously reject the idea of a denominational structure as a matter of doctrine, insisting that each congregation must be autonomous, sometimes pointing out that in early Christianity, there were no denominations. In support of this stance, 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 is often cited. It reads:

“ Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Peter," and "I of Christ." Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? ”

In essence, it can be said that each non-denominational church forms its own unofficial and unnamed "denomination" with a specific set of tenets as defined by the governing structure of the church (including its members). Any similarities between those beliefs and the beliefs of denominations or other non-denominational churches is entirely unintentional.

Livinintheword pretty much got it right, the only thing I would ad is. The teachings vary depending on the preachers background. There are some that have absolutely no Biblical training at all, these people scare the heck out of me. There used to be a guy on here called Rev Kev, his teachings were so far out there that I called him on it several times. He refused to teach properly, and was eventually run out of YA. YOU MUST CHECK THEM OUT TO MAKE SURE THEY LINE UP WITH SCRIPTURE.

For the most part, MOST of them are not too different from Baptists and/or Methodists. SOME of them do teach that baptism is essential to salvation or that works is essential to salvation, but otherwise, they follow similar beliefs.

JTLYK: Salvation is NOT by works AT ALL; faith ALONE, not faith with works.... just faith... Eph. 2:8-9, Gal. 2:16 & 21.

Why the thumbs down? can't handle the Truth from scriptures or am I not "politically correct" in the above statement about nondenominationalists?
