It can cause you to feel "full" for a while. Often when we think we're hungry, we're actually mistaking a signal for thirst with a signal for hunger...so we eat when what our body really wanted was a drink.

Water also helps flush out your system, get rid of some of the toxins in the body (kidneys), and is good for the skin (and other organs).

Does it help you lose weight? It doesn't burn calories, but if you drink a glass of water before each meal, you may eat less so in that regard, it might help you lose weight. Regardless, it's a good part of any healthy diet/eating plan.

Drinking water could get you full and you could lose weight because water has no calories so if you were to eat something and drink soda your putting the calories from the food and the calories of soda. But if you were to eat something and water you would only put the calories of the food. Also you should only have 2,500 calories per day the extra calories are turn into fatness.

Hope it helps.

anything you put into your stomach will make you feel full. sometimes when you think you're hungry, you're really thirsty. it's called "false hunger". drink some water and wait 10 minutes. if the feeling of hunger comes back, you probably are hungry and need to eat something sensible. drink water before eating and you won't eat as much. it also eliminates water weight and is a necessary part of losing weight.

Yes it makes you full, but drinking too much water can cause you to retain water. Lose weight the honest way.....exercise, eat right, make good choices.

But let's be honest. How often have you wanted a piece of cake and been satisfied by a tall glass of water?

I look at water as a replacement for sodas, not as a substitute for food, when dieting. Eat what you like to eat, just in smaller portions. And drink water in place of sodas. If it has to have flavor, buy some KoolAid and Splenda.
