I'm going to be babysitting this weekend and taking a few kids to an easter egg hunt, I'm wondering what age a child should stop riding in a stroller so I know if I should take one for one of the kids I'll have with me.

Once they are too big to fit. And it depends on how far they would have to walk.
Under 3 always bring a stroller.
3 to 4 bring a stroller if your going to be out longer than 2 to 3 hours
5 to 7 if your gonna be out all day
If their 8 or over, they should be ok walking all day.
If they won't fit in a stroller, and get tired easy, bring a wagon.

Usually their size more than often dictates when they'll have to stop using one. I've seen some rather large children stuffed into strollers, and it just looks ridiculous. If it is a short walk, let them walk. The only times I really use a stroller for my 3 year old anymore is if we go someplace that requires a lot of walking- like Disneyland or a giant mall. Other than that, let them walk. A better solution for older kids (about 4 years old is the limit on strollers) is a wagon. That way, they can ride if they get tired, and it can hold all the stuff as well. Older than about 4 (unless they are really small in size or have a disability) they should be walking and no longer in a stroller.

It totally depends on the activity level of the child, the place you'll be, and the comfort of the stroller. If the place is going to be busy with lots of people or traffic, then you need a stroller if the child is under 3. If you are walking a long way, then I would take a stroller even for a 3 yo, esp if you are keeping an eye on other kids. My first child didn't ride in a stroller much, but when her bro was born I put him in a stroller for a LONG time so I could have hands free to take care of the first one when we were out. If you are going to be busy with anything at all and the child you are referring to is small, he might wander or run off and be hard to find. He might also get tired of walking or standing around. When in doubt, bring a stroller. If you don't have it you could end up carrying a heavy lil child.

For an Easter Egg hunt all the kids who are walking will want to not be in a stroller. But if its quite a walk to/from the egg hunt then you'll probably want a stroller available for any kids under the age of 3 in case they get tired of walking.

I would say 3 or 4 year olds can still ride in a stroller. If its going to be alot of walking they might get tired, so it would be a good idea to have it along just in case.

I don't think that there's really a certain age. If they don't fit well into it anymore or the seat sags (I think there's a 60lb. weight limit on most) then it's probably time to get them out of there. Now, if it's an umbrella stroller, I'd say 25lbs. maximum.

I take one for my 3 year old if we have a long walk or an all day event........the other day I didn`t bring one and she fell asleep on the train (I had to change trains and then walk 10 minutes from the train station!).
If you have a car nearby, you probably won`t need one...
