Laury K asked this same question. Everyone said take your dog to a vet NOW!!!!

PLEASE DO NOT tell me the same the vet is not an opcion that I have. THERE IS NO VET.

OK. So on sunday night my dog got hit by a moterbike. Not to hard but she her leg is definitily in pain. She is limping (ofcourse) but my mom and I taking care of her - I wanted to take her to the docter for an x-ray, but I can't get my dog to him because she is a 9 month saintbernard, and the only type of transport in this town is by moterbike.

She can't lie down by herself without hurting herself or having her leg totally bent (NOT good!!!).

I have been giving her a 2-3 painkillers a day so it won't hurt when I lay her down or when she attempts to get up. Plus I have putten a splint on her.

My question being.

How exactly should the splint be? My mom put it on the outside so as not to irritate the inside. But yesterday I was looking at her leg when she was standing

and noticed because she was hit on the side her leg is slightly bent inwards (very slight)....would it be better to have the splint on the inside? It is a tiny big flexible. We have put a clean piece of cloth underneath it then a bandage (the elasticy kind that sticks to itself) over it and a couple of old socks over all of it....very cute little cast.

I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. Plus what could I put on under all the wrapping to help?....and if I'm going to put an ice pack on which part should it be?

THANK YOU 100X

if I was stupid as hell I would have been happy to see my dog being able to lie down ''by herself''......with her leg f*kking all twisted up. ONCE AGAIN THERE IS NO VET.

This is not good enough. Your dog's leg sounds broken, and an incorrectly applied splint can make things much worse. Without knowing the type of break and where it is, it is impossible to advise you on how to apply it - an untrained individual should NOT be doing this. Human painkillers, even IF given in the correct dose, can harm the dog's liver.

This dog NEEDS a vet - so please find a way. You're looking for someone to provide you with an alternative, but there is none. Get a taxi, get a friend, attach a trailer to the motorbike - just get it there. It's madness to have such a big dog that you can't get to the vet anyway.

WOW PAIN KILL ER CAN TOTALY MESS YOUR DOG UP UNLESS IT WAS PRESCRIBED TO HER AND ON THE OUT SIDE IS GOOD YES. YOU SHOULD THE DOGS LEG THIS IS KIND OF HARD TO DO FOR THE DOG CUZ IT CAN ONLY WORK WITH ITS THREE LEGS BUT GET SOMETHING LIKE A RULER AND PLACE IT ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ODGS LEG WRAP IT UP THE TAKE THAT BODY WRAP COTTON AND WRAP THE LEG UP TILL ITS CLOSE TO THE BODY AND IN THE AIR YOU HAVE TO DO THIS BY WRAPING THE LEG TO THE BODY BY GOING AROUND ITS BACK AND UNDER ITS BELLY AND WRAPING THE LEG THEN THATS THE BEST I CAN DESCRIBE I HOPE IT HELPS BUT U HAVE TO TRY TO KEEP HE OFF THAT LEG.

my suggestion will be u should have massage the spot where it has been hit moreover if there swollen on her leg try putting some ice pack on her leg n moreover don't make her move around it will make her more pain...if this doesn't work out u should consult a vet as this the first aid which i have been giving to my dog

First off all you can't just give pain meds to the dog, what are you giving her?
If you can't get the dog to the vet maybe the vet can come to your house?
Motor bikes have little "trailers" maybe you could tranport her that way. It is obvious she needs to be seen somehow.

Don't say that a vet is not an option. It is...they will come to you if you are not able to come to them. Is your dog's proper healing not worth the money??? If your answer is no, then you should not be a pet owner, unless you are a Vetranarian that can fix these problems themselves. Shame on you!!

Is there a TELEPHONE in your town? Call the vet and ask HIM what to do. You should not have a dog if you cannot provide it with medical attention when it needs it.
