Yes, there are some pretty bad things in the bible. Plagues, killing first-born children, floods, sacrifice...

Our bodies are literally in the image of God. If the veil was rent today and you saw God in all His power, majesty, and glory He would look like a man in all the particulars. We were created in the image and likeness of Almighty God. All of us, when we were born, were clear of sin. Jesus Christ atones for original sin that we are once again, in our infant state, innocent.
Now, God also gave us the gift of free agency so that he could test and prove us in all things whether or not we would be obedient unto His command. Only by using our free will to make right choices when wrong choices are presented to us can we grow to become more like Him. Many people use their agency to rape, murder, molest and disbelieve in their Heavenly Father... God allows this sometimes. Pain, adversity, sickness, and death are a part of mortality. Without all of these there would be no growth. God hates when these things happen, but because He has given us free will and respects our RIGHT TO CHOOSE... he usually won't interfere. However, although we can make choices, we don't choose the consequences of those choices. Like we can't choose what happens when we touch a hot flame (i.e we get burned), but we can choose not to touch that hot flame. Sometimes bad things happen to good people. This is part of life. God neither willed that to happen or is happy that it did happen. However, we live in a world where other peoples mistakes can hurt us. We need to gain these experiences to grow and become refined. We are refined by our trials and hardships.

This all stems from " the fall " . This is covered in the first few pages of the bible. Adam and Eve had the choice of whether or not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. They knew they were not supposed to but they did. They sinned and that sin corrupted the perfect world God created for us. Sin manifests and leads to murder and rape, i.e. Cain and Abel. Get a clue, this is basic theology.

When god said he created us in his own image it meant he gave us charecteristics that were like him. The desire to do right, the ability to forgive, kindness, creativity. But because of sin, many people choose to ignore the concience God gave them. Haven't you ever heard of someone trying to put out the liknesses between them and their parents? If people accepted and allwed the charecteristics of God to be apart of their life that would mean they would have to believe he created them. And there are a lot out there who would rather die than do that.

thing is that though he created us in His image, He also gave us free will. so we choose what we do. Also that is why He lets everything happen..
people choose to be rapists and atheists and robbers, murderers, etc.
but there is always the hope that they will repent and what not..

The answer is vanity. The bible writers thought humanity was "it" and thus in the image of their creator. What if bacteria was the big guy's favorite life form. Lot more of them around in more places and possibly in other planets and moons.

No, God is a perfect and just God. Have you even read the Bible?? If you did, you wouldn't be asking this question. Well, I'll answer it anyway.
God isn't evil. We humans are created in the image of God, but sin entered the world and death by sin when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit that God specifically told them not to eat. They disobeyed God, and sin entered the world and made us all sinners with evil thoughts and intentions.
Isaiah 64:6 says, "But we are all like an unclean thing,And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away."
This verse is telling us that our best actions, deeds, etc, are like filthy rags.
1 Peter 2:24 says, "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."
This verse is telling us that when Jesus Christ died for our sins, that He paid our debt for sins, so that we could go to heaven.
We can't get to heaven by doing good things, like Isaih 64:6 says. The only way that you can get to heaven is if you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast."
This verse is saying that God saved us, we didn't save ourselves.
God is a perfect, just God. We are all sinners in God's sight. I hope you take this seriously. May God Bless You.

Behavior is "owned" by the doer. Behavior is not part of "image." The image is physical, and it part of the appearance. We appear as the same form, shape, characteristics of eyes, noses, two legs, etc.
While we cannot choose our own image, we can choose our own behavior.

Remember, in the book even god killed innocent infants. God justified this by saying, "Well, I couldn't think of anything other than a worldwide flood to kill the bad guys."
He impregnated Jesus' mom without her consent. They teach us that this is rape.
The bible also has guidelines for what to do with toddler female slaves.
