I was using an old document to make a new one with the same format. I want to save the old one so I usually just make changes and click "save as." Well, I did that, but I forgot to change the file name. Is there anyway I can recover the old file?

If you haven't closed Word, you might be able to undo all your changes until you're back to the old document.... But other than that, I don't think so.

No.

If the only difference is the file name, re-open it and Save as... using a new file name.
