Captmhunt, I think it is you who needs to QUIT LISTENING TO LIE MONGERS.

"The earth is WARMER now than at ANY TIME in the past 4 MILLION YEARS and it is a FACT... it is in the ice records from Antarctica." - just what lie monger did you get that information from? Not only is your statement of fact completely wrong, but it is not even close. In fact the ice records from antarctica show warmer temperatures than present just 400 years ago. Whoever told you 4 mill years exagerated by 10,000 times.

The attached link shows a study of ice cores from both antarctica and greenland. It shows that the antarctic temperatures have been constantly swinging from between 2*C above and 2*C below current temperatures over the last 10,000 years since the end of the last ice age. If you look at the data you'll see warmer temperatures in antarctica 400 years ago, 600 ya, 1400 ya, 1600 ya, 2600 ya, 5000 ya, etc.
If you look at the warming approx. 400 years ago, you'll see that the temperature rose over 2*C in one century - compare that to the 0.6*C rise we saw in the last century.

The charts for the Greenland temperature data show WARMER temperatures for most of the last 10,000 years at greenland than the current temperatures.

How do the actual facts match with your claim that the earth is warmer now than any time in the past 4 million years? It is pretty clear that you have fallen for some load of BS shovelled out by a global warming alarmist. I'd suggest that you educate yourself to some actual facts about the earth's climate before spouting off some "millions of years" nonsense again.

There have been natural climate changes before, and there will be again.

But this particular warming is driven by man's emissions of greenhouse gases. The scientific data clearly shows that to be true.

Here's a very short summary of the data:

and here's a more exhaustive analysis:

That considers the sun, of course. And finds it to be less than 10% of the problem.

People can argue by intuition or politics (what does Al Gore's personal life have to do with it?) or whatever. But this is science and the data decides. The data overwhelmingly supports man's responsibility for global warming. So the majority of scientists do too.

That has been my point. Fossil fuels had nothing to do with global warming and cooling cycles that have occurred on Earth over the millennia. Of course there were no elections coming up either...

Thirty years ago (before FoxNews) it was "global cooling" that was about to do us all in. Go figure...

Note to self... Check CapsLock button often when thoughtfully and logically answering questions.

I just love these people who blindly follow the Republican bull sh*t line about how the coming global warming is not due to the burning of fossil fuels nor is it due to what man has done to the environment.

THE TRUTH IS... The earth is WARMER now than at ANY TIME in the past 4 MILLION YEARS and it is a FACT... it is in the ice records from Antarctica.

I travel a lot and the one thing I have seen is America is being burned every day... the sugar cane growers burn their fields and liberate tons of hydrocarbons into the air EVERY DAY... the Oil Industry, taken as a whole... from production to use... puts TONS of pollutants into the air EVERY DAY.

Sooner or later, the greenhouse gasses build up AND THEY ARE and this spike in green house gasses is DIRECTLY RELATED TO MAN'T RAPING THE PLANET.

My suggestion is, QUITE LISTENING TO THE LIE MONGERS... FOX NOISE CHANNEL AND RUSH LIMBAUGH and do some independent reading... IN A BOOK of your choice and develop your OWN opinion instead of blindly parroting what the well paid for debunkers hired by the oil companies WANTS you to believe.

The earth goes through cycles of warmth and cold. The reason we worry about global warming is that these cycles take thousands of years while right now we are warming the planet in hundreds of years.

It was mostly perturbations in the earth's orbital characteristics and I'm sure Al Gore didn't have his movie out yet and people had no idea things were changing.

THANK YOU!!!

In fact, ALL ice ages have been caused by changes in SOLAR ENERGY OUTPUT.

But try telling that to the Liberals out there crying 'wolf'!

And if they always take thousands of years, HOW did that mastadon get frozen solid with fresh flowers in its stomach??????????

But don't trust me or Rush or Fox. Look it up yourself.
