Mousse is def a good idea. What you want to do though, is when you get out of the shower, apply the mousse all over the hair, focusing on your roots. If you want to wear it straight, blow dry you hair upside down, spraying a little volumizing hairspray at the roots as you go along. Flip your head back up, and blow dry hair into the desired style. It will flatten out a bit after this, but dont worry. Once your style is good, lift the hair around the crown of your head, spray the roots lightly w/ the hairspray, and then take a comb (not a brush!) and lightly tease the hair. Hit with the blowdryer and low setting to ensure staying power. Let those pieces down, and then Lightly comb the surface of the hair at the crown to make it neat. That should do the trick!

I have super fine hair too, the kind that falls straight half an hour after I curl it. I've found that Paul Mitchel's extra body sculpting foam works pretty well to start with. My gay friend gave me ISO daily spray wax that is a volumizer & texturizer that works fairly well and smells good. I haven't found a really good hair spray yet. Finesse used to make a really good one that was light but held in the curls, but of course, like all the really great products I discover, they stopped making it. Good luck!

use olive oil to nourish your hair, but it makes it quite greasy. Perms help to create volume (but don't get a granny style perm lol). Curls also help to create volume and some mousses and sprays that you can buy from your local beauty store have volume and hair thickening effects.
