She emailed me that she found out about a year ago (I haven't talked to her much lately), and asked me to walk or donate. I will email her back to tell her I'd be happy to, but what else do I say to her about it?

the best you can do is just be there for her , show intrest and never be afraid to ask questions. There are sveral different types of MS , and each act differently as a process.

If you're a serious couple , or heading that way ...discuss the impact that MS will have on your future , and make sure you can handle those implications before jumping feet first . She needs to trust you to understand , and trust to have you to lean on .

This is a great site :

anything you could think of asking you'll find there . visit together....maybe even join the forums.

Good luck . God bless.

She probably doesn't want pity - just understanding. be supportive and tell her that you are always available to communicate with if things are not going well for her. It's a good idea for you to read up on MS to have a better understanding of what a person goes through with this condition. A good role model for MS is Montel Williams. He struggles with this condition but fights very hard by taking the best care of himself he possibly can.

I've enclosed some websites to help you have more information.

Although there are some who have a tough time with MS, it isn't necessarily a all doom and gloom. My sister was diagnosed with MS about 3 years ago. She's taking a weekly prohibitive drug called Avonex and no further symptoms have occurred.

You can ask here which one she is using, what seminars she's attended etc...
