I am totally in favor of them. About six years ago I had a form of stem cell use, where the orthopedist took cells from the protective layer on my fibula, it was grown in some distance place, then put inside my knee to grow into new cartilage. The procedure is called Carticel and it worked!!!

Shortly after I lost my two daughters to Late Infantile Batten Disease, stem cell replacement therapy became available in the testing phase. This therapy is supposed to stop this disease at the time of treatment. It won't cure the disease but is expected to greatly reduce suffering. If it works, I think it's wonderful.
