I have tons of furniture in my house that I do not use and that I would like to sell. I am considering putting on ebay but, first I would like to know if there are any companies in New York City that will appraise and buy my old furniture. I have a bunch of pieces in excellent condition from companies like "Cargo" and "This End Up".

If it's in good condition, I'd try looking up consignment stores. We have them here. Some buy clothes, a couple buy good used furniture. I'm sure there has to be at least one in NYC.

If you donate your furniture, you can get a tax deduction and stick it to Uncle Sam. Just make sure you get a receipt, and if the value is over $500, don't exceed that amount total, that's the limit of what wou can write off.

E-Bay is your best bet: I can't think of many if any companies that would buy used furniture.

There is the option of donating it to DAV or some other charity, but E-bay is your best choice for actually getting a monetary return.
