I have a solid black tribal type dragon tattoo. I is in severe need of a touch up and I while I am doing it, I was considering changing it from tribal to a more realistic looking dragon. Can white be added on top of the black to creat lines and shadowing?

Solid Black, that's a hard one.
Go to your tat shop and talk
with your artist. He may be able
to come up with a good cover.
When it's dark you can't go lighter.

I don't think so. Believe you can only change it with another black tattoo. Although there are new inks out there now that may be able to do what you described. The only problem would be finding a tattoo artist that would use them. In a women's prison they were using the gel pens for tats but they may be dangerous in the long run. You could try laser removal, but I heard it's kinda sore. Good luck!

You can't go over black with anything other than black and have it look right. He may be able to convert into something else but you need to go down there and talk to him or her.

no. you are stuck with tribal. your artist, if he is extremely talented he may be able to work it into something else. but you may end up needing to have it covered up with something else all together.
