generations have licked the bowl and mixing spoons or whatever and not gotten sick. it's the milk and egg that might make you sick. milk you know need to be kept cold. eggs eaten raw can carry salmonella and shouldn't be eaten raw. if you mix it and eat some right away, you should be fine. don't let it sit and then eat it. the ONLY way to be safe is to bake the cake and then eat it.

Assuming you're using fresh ingredients in the batter, the most likely thing to make you sick is the raw eggs. If ANYthing contains raw eggs, there's no guarantee that you'll get sick, but there is definitely a risk.
There are lots of cake recipes (you can Google them yourself) that contain powdered egg, pasteurized egg product, or no eggs at all.

Find one that doesn't have eggs in. Raw eggs can give you salmonella - like a terrible stomach, intestinal flu and can be fatal.
A store bought cake mix might do if you don't want one from scratch but the rawness itself might be sickening after about a few gulps. How about a nice malt with some protein powder added? It would be similar. You can let it warm up if you are attracted to room temperature goo.

I have eaten cake batter and I have never gotten sick; however, I didn't try to eat an entire bowel of it. I simply licked the spoons after my grandmother finished mixing her cakes. Those were the good old days - -

Use the store bought cake batter and simply omit the eggs. Add moisture using more water or milk. Eat to your heart's content. You won't get salmonella, but you might get sick from all the sugar.
