I do and usually there is a sales associate telling them to go find their mother, it sets such a bad example for parents like us who expect good behavior from our children.. I have four ages 9,7,5,&, 3 and of course when they see that they want to do the same, and then I hear well they are doing it.... What do we do?? I don't have a clue but I know for a fact that in todays world my children will not be out of my site for a minute if I can help it, you never know what creep is lurking around the corner, I think that some parents are just really nieve to the fact that yes bad things can happen to anybody even you!!!!

There are so many times when I have seen little like 3 or 4 year olds by themselves in the store. my hubby and I talk about how these children aren't safe like that. And the public isn't safe if you are run over by some unwatched kid riding bikes and skateboards thru the store and dumping all the stuff on the floor so you can barely walk thru the aisle. When i lived in Anaheim, Ca i refused to go to the walmart because of how messy it was and the kids were always running wild in the store and knocking stuff on the floor. I think the parents are lazy and don't want to be bothered by their kids. When my kids were young they stayed with me and if they acted up we went home no questions. I love to go into stores that announce over the PA to keep your kids with you.

YES!!! And me having three kids aging from 7 to 3 have a had time telling my kids no you can't do that... I think the parents just let their kids go to the toy section and leave them there so they can do their shopping with peace and quite.. Which is a shame.. What are they going to do if their child gets snatched or something.. If their child gets hurt are they gonna sue the store? That bugs me to no end... And these kids are so rude... Running out in front of you and hitting you in the head with the balls their kicking around..

It is difficult to believe that in todays world that people would leave their children to play unsupervised anywhere. These parents are not responsible and are teaching their children that the world is their playground.Unfortunately this lack of supervision causes increased costs for the rest of us.Stock that is damaged, used or with parts missing cost everyone. These same parents never buy these items just leave them on the floor so someone can slip on them. I never buy anything from a lower shelf or the first item from the first row because of an observation made by my daughter. She said items at kiddie level are sometimes put in the childs mouth. touched by dirty hands or wiped on faces with runny noses. If you think she's exagerating keep an eye on the little ones at the check out and see if you ever buy another candy bar at the check out.

Yes I see it happen in grocery stores with kids running around without their parents. I think to myself why would you risk that when there are all sorts of pedophiles out there in the world today and your kid could be gone in the blink of an eye. Those parents need to wake up and realize that the world is not safe anymore. It's not like it was in the 30s when you didn't have to worry about your kids playing outside for all hours of the night. If those were my kids I'd probably beat them right there in the store for running away and scaring me half to death.

From what I've seen (as my sister and sister in law are both those parents that let their children roam around) it's more because they feel that they can get more done if the child is self-entertained. The problem that neither of them seem to see is that public stores are not the best place to leave your children unattended and running wild.

I see it all the time. I have 4 children of my own, and have often found myself in the spot where they have taken a liking to a certain item. But I never allow any of them out of site. I think it has to do with when I was in high school I was in a class that said a statistic that was very high for child stealing basically and all it takes is a second for your child to be gone.
then when my child was 5 grandma took her to public show and decided even though it was crowded to let her 'walk like a big girl' well when she stopped she wasn't with her anymore. Let me tell you the fear that goes through you when that happens.

Almost everytime I go to the store I witness the same thing. I think some parents either just gave up or just don't care.

My children are always with me, If they are good while I shop, then we might go to the toy Isles. I guess some people just arent as stern with their children. I would just be so afraid that my child might break something that I couldnt replace, or worse, get kidnapped.

I see this all the time. The sad part is that the parents are too lazy to do anything about it because half the time they are on their cell phones. Maybe those parents are the ones who need the spankings instead!
