Weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. To loose weight you need to count calories. Take your current weight and multiply by 12. Then subtract 500. That's how many calories you should be getting each day. You still need to exercise regularly but diet is more important.
You feel hungrier because exercise boosts your metabolism. But that doesn't mean you should eat more, so good for you for not doing that.
Good luck!

Well, first, how long have you been going to the gym?? It usually takes a little time for your body to start loosing weight after you start an exercise program. After a while of constant exercise, your metabolism will speed up and then you''ll start loosing weight. If I were you I would not work out twice a day, instead I would make one longer session a day, this way your body can rest and you'll give your muscles time to recover and firm up. You also have to watch what you eat because a good weight loss program includes exercise and good food. When you start exercising you loose extra calories that your body wasn't used to be loosing on a daily basis before so you'll get hungrier...the good news is that it'll go away a few weeks after you keep working out. So I say be patient and confident and you will see results...and congratulations on your decision to improving your quality of life!

I've been told to watch the waistline, actually, instead of the numbers on the scale. You'll notice a shrinking there (or thighs) but you're building up muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat. Better you have muscle than fat, though, right?
Try not to fight the hunger - have a banana or some low fat snacks and plenty of liquids - preferably water, fruit juice without fructose corn syrup, or those gatorade/powerade drinks.
By denying your body when it's hungry, it'll start "hoarding" calories next time you eat, so a good way to help that, is to have smaller meals and cut the portion sizes.
Lots of luck to you! Personally, I saw results after 2 months (30mins a day workout + lowfat meals), but you know how results may vary in different people!

I must say that's quite a schedule to work out. Your Hungary, because you have built muscle and muscle is heavier than fat and requires more protein and carbs in your body. What you want to do now, is tone it down. Just do cardio for an hour one day. The next day do machines, the next day, weights.
Fourth day your off.. relax but don't eat crappy. The fifth day start all over again, and add some stretching to your program. Take it from me, I am 5 months pregnant and still working out, stretching to touch my toes, take care of the house, get dinner ready for hubby, clean, and take care of a chihuahua breeding buisiness:) Believe me working out really keeps you flexible and motivated to do more. You will see the results if you follow this for about a good month. Let me know how you do:) Also, watch your salt, it makes you retain water and too much is very bad for blood pressure etc.

Well, it could be a combination of things. First of all, muscle weighs more than fat, so you could be replacing fat with muscle. It could also have to do with the food you chose to eat. If you work out like running on a treadmill, stairmaster, intense cardio, dancing classes, weights, etc, and eat a lot of LEAN protein (chicken breast, eggs, NOT steaks and stuff) cut down on carbs, and try to avoid sweets, you will gain lean muscle and be toned. If you are looking to just lose weight, not replace it with muscle, do pilates or yoga or stretching or walking on a treadmill and eat lots of fruits and veggies, and low calorie yogurt and stuff.

Remember, muscle weighs more than fat. That is the number 1 thing you have to keep in mind.
Do you see your clothes fitting any differently? That is the best judge... in my book.
Also, don't fight your hunger, just find HEALTHY things to snack on. What's wrong with eating a salad.
You may want to try drinking more water. The more you drink, the more full you will feel. PLUS, the water will help clean out your system.

when you first start a rigorous training routine the body goes through some initial changes. one of them is that insulin sensitivity in the muscle cell increases. when this happens nutrient uptake in the muscle cell is increased, this is a normal function. muscle cells are supposed to store excess carbohydrates in the muscle cell, then when they have reached storage capacity excess blood sugar may be converted to a fat and stored.
try to focus more on changing the body composition and not so much on just the total bodyweight. pick up some cheap hand calipers ($15-$20) to take your own body fat measurements.

You are gaining muscle (which weighs more than fat). You are hungry because you are burning losts of calories. Eat healthy foods and about 1,500 calories eventually you should lose weight.
