For example, it's important for parents to be there for a child's important events such as school plays and dance recitals but, in THE SIXTH SENSE, the kid's mother works 2 jobs and misses his performances in school plays. She also weeps when he tells her that her mother did see her dance recital. The poor kid has to settle for Bruce Willis watching his school plays.

I'm gonna be there for all of my daughter's recitals, if any. Or any other thing she's doing in life...She's only 11 mos. old, but hey! They grow up fast, dammit...

In the movie Click! Adam Sandler is reminded by his lil' son that he is never at his swim meets or other hobby of his, and he kinda just lets him know he will be there next time, ofcourse I don't wanna ruin it for the ppl who haven't watched it, but he learns his lesson. LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN!!!!

A good parenting skill perhaps is being the best friend of your child. A child constantly needs the company of his parents and his or or her activities in schools need their presence. Being supportive of your child's needs will build the confidence of your child to live a happy life. About the movie, have you watched "Liar Liar" starring Jim Curry? Watch it. It portrays what disappoints a child most.

In "Coal Miner's Daughter", Loretta Lynn's parents worked terribly hard to provide for their children. They were poor, but their children weren't neglected. If anything, they were too indulgent and allowed the children a lot of freedom, perhaps more than was good for them. Loretta married at an exceptionally early age, which isn't good.
