To Catholics it is true that you believe that the story of Adam and Eve is a tale?

Is it true JW, think Superman Issue #1, is a true story? Come on, literal, just doesn't exist in the Bible..it may be inspired, but it is most certainly NOT true.

The story of Adam and Eve while not necessarily factual still tells the spiritual truth that the first human beings (who ever they were) disobeyed the commandment of God, choosing to follow their own will rather than God's will.

As a consequence they lost the grace of original holiness, and became subject to the law of death; sin became universally present in the world.

Besides the personal sin of "Adam and Eve," original sin describes the fallen state of human nature which affects every person born into the world, and from which Christ, the "new Adam," came to redeem us.

No, we can believe it literally, or we can believe it is true in the sense of faith, but not exactly historically true. Meaning we believe there was and Adam and, an Eve. Were they a community of people? or something else? we don't know. What we do know is that they rebelled against God and created original sin, it's kind of like... the book of genesis is a bunch of metaphors and stuff.

Catholics believe the whole bible is without error in the matters of faith.

No it is not true. The Catholic Church teaches that Adam and Eve were indeed two individuals, and that their sin, the original sin, brought evil into the world and necessitated the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

i was raised catholic and taught early on that adam and eve were indeed real! i am now 44 and still believe. it's called faith!!!

btw jesus died for our sins, i know it's difficult to understand until you read the bible and attend bible class.
