I believe that everyone has a right to their own beliefs. I do not believe they have a right to condescend anyone who doesn't measure up to their so-called standards which are double by the way, and aren't followed.
I do think it is too bad that you are just asking out a question, but it is being taken out of context to mean that you have something against anyone who expresses these on answers.
That is how paranoid people have become. God Bless!

With religious liberty comes the right to propagate your faith. Surely you cannot enter someones house and force them to hear sermons, but ministry on the sidewalks, publishing books, and having religious assemblies is NOT forcing religion. Read a history book to find out what forcing religion is. Merely hearing about this or that deity is not religious persecution. You put the people who suffered real persecution to shame. You cry over "hearing" of a God, but they went to prison, suffered, and died over their views of the Supreme Being. You disrespect them.

Before atheists all agree to your call they will need to wash their own bloody hands.
You say that you want people to stop trying to "force their beliefs on you." But atheists do that. When they take force my children and grandchildren to listen to the hypothesis of evolution in school as if it were dogma not mentioning the problems with evolution, you are successfully forcing your beliefs on me and mine.
You say that you shouldn't be forced to support a belief system that you dissagree with. Yet you take my tax dollars to support the abortion of millions of innocent lives; a practice I detest.
You say that you feel that you are judged for not believing as they yet Christians have epitaphs such as "stupid; close minded; not living in the real world" and other insults by atheists. The peculiar thing about this is that a Christian view is that they are not better than anyone else, only that they believe in the saving power of God Who loves them and gave Himself for them. Sounds more humble than prideful.
So if you are willing to stop oppressing me by ceasing the previous things mentioned I will cease to 'oppress' you. In the meantime, we'll just call it a healthy exchange of ideas, ok?

Puh..lease! Force? This forum is for all beliefs in case you're new here. What you believe is your choice. We can all express our opinions though. No group can be fairly singled out as being judgemental-everyone blames the other side, and everyone feels judged. No one can 'make' you change your beliefs.

I don't care about them trying to convert me -- it only bothers me when they want to legislate their superstitions in violation of the constitution.
The ones who come to my door are kinda fun...I invite them in, then demolish them intellectually. Though they come trying to convert *me*, I send them away either frustrated or (hopefully) actually thinking about all the contradictions in their beliefs for which they have no explanation. Perhaps some of them will come to recognize their delusion, and my discussion will be a spark to help them throw off the shackles of ignorance and superstition that keep them from knowing the real world.
Just saw in the news that 20% of americans 18-30 now consider themselves atheists...good news indeed. If reason keeps spreading among the youth like that, we won't have to worry about religious people trying to convert us for much longer, they will have gone the way of the dinosaurs (become extinct).
Peace.

certainly, we are no longer. you have the liberty to share your ideals with others, yet in addition they have the main appropriate to say no to take action. you haven't any longer have been given any suited to rigidity a guy or woman to have self assurance an identical way you do(the two by way of harassment, violence, or worse), era. think of of it this way. you won't want somebody to return as much as you and rigidity you to no longer have self assurance on your faith(no count number how this hypothetical guy or woman might opt to try this), so do no longer do it to us. we don't care in case you share your faith, talk it courteously, and so on, purely don't be an a*s approximately it. maximum persons do, yet there are some(on the two facets at that) who do no longer. If greater human beings might purely be calm and civil and settle for that no longer anybody's going to be alike and comply with disagree, there would not be a issue. that is purely trouble-free, after all.

My apologizes to anyone who may have gotten the impression that I was trying to convert them or judge them.
I give answers to those who seek to understand what I believe by my own experience.

Holier-than-thous can be a real pain in the rear. If only they had the decency to recognize that other belief systems should also be respected.
