Is The Church Of God 7th Day a cult? I'm NOT talking about
7th Day Adventist. When I was 15 I was baptized into the Church Of God 7th Day. I've never thought that there was anything wrong with that. But then I realized today at 22 years old that maybe the Saturday church going opened up a door to the Devil. Don't get me wrong, I think alot of people in that church were saved. However, it lead me to believe early on in my Christian walk that most Christians were wrong about things that weren't really important. Years later after that door was cracked open, I became real cult material for churches that thought that they were the only ones who were right. I started studying Jehovah's Witness and Mormonism. Is it passable that if I was raised in a Sunday church I wouldn't have grown up feeling suspicious over the majority of Churches?
I'm addicted to churches that teach about the great apostasy all day long. Now I'm thinking maybe it's because I was already baptized in one before.

There are hundreds, if not thousands of Divisions of the Protestant religion. The most recent - rebirth of it in modern times can be traced back to what is called, Armstrongism.
What day you "worship", or go to "church" or keep the Sabbath, is not the point. All man will never agree on all things. Man will argue into eternity - and never agree.
People get bogged down arguing about insignificant things, and never see the big picture. They are like a ship without a rudder. Make up your own mind about things, and don't worry what everyone thinks. People defecting from the Truth is what I call Apostacy. At the end, most everyone will have defected, enmass - from the Truth. But this is not the end - end. This is the beginning of the New World Order, since They will be in the Majority.

the most important thing you can do is to read the Bible (get one in modern day English) and if you want to make sure your worship is acceptable to God then do not join any religion that practices rituals or observes festivals that arent clearly and obviously found in the Bible. Did you know that Jesus warned us that there would be many more *false* christians in the world than true ones? see Matthew 7:13-23. Also did you know that these false christians are ones that have been decieved into believing lies? see 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11. Did you know that nowhere in the Bible does anyone celebrate Jesus' birthday? and that the Bible proves Jesus could not have been born on December 25th? The December 25th date is a lie, a deception by satan to trick people into doing something detestable to God! Know your Bible and worship in truth! see John 4:23, 24. agape!

I like the Church of God but don't know anything about 7th Day..I would just say go to a good Bible believing church and have them pray over you. I think you are fine and are just being attacked in your mind. Don't fear...and about studying the apostasy..don't be obsessed but it is ok to find parts of the Bible more interesting that others..you may have a calling in this area...just follow the directions in my second sentence, you'll be fine.

The church of God 7th day is a cult. The interest in the other churches may come from where you say.

It's not the baptism that does anything in itself. It's the importance you put into the ritual -- if you didn't think it was important, it wouldn't mean any more than jumping into a swimming pool or taking a shower.

As for the addiction, it sounds like you are craving excitement and validation in your life. I suggest you get yourself some good action movies and work off some of that floating anxiety walking around for about ten, twenty minutes at a time. Does wonders for those cravings for stark terror and desperate righteousness, and nobody gets hurt in the process.

First, Christians are not under the Mosaic Law and are therefore not required to observe the Sabbath. (Colossians 2:16, 17)

Second, be careful with dealing about apostasy matters...it is better to focus on bible studies that benefit you that that will make you doubt what you really believe.

Mormons have self belief that for the period of accordance to God's ideal justice, all people who ever lived might desire to have the possibility to correctly known of and settle for the gospel in the event that they go with. as a manner to receive salvation, people might desire to be baptized as a image of the covenant which you're making with God. it truly is such as the concept that somebody might desire to pay for sins. it is not elective. as a result all people who ever lived will receive this ordinance. Many hundreds are baptized each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days yet lots of the artwork would be carried out interior the Millenium. by using fact of politics, many baptisms are on carry until eventually there are greater favorable circumstances. This commonly contains the Jewish holocaust victims. The gospel replaced into initially taken to the Jews, maximum of which rejected it. So it replaced into then taken to the gentiles. In those final days, the gospel is taken to the gentiles and after maximum reject it, the gospel will lower back be taken to the jews. for this reason friendly Christs prophecy that the final would be first and the 1st would be final. i think of that the carry on Jewish baptisms is related to this.

Being baptized is symbolic of Christ's death and resurrection.Your sin is being washed away, you take on the new life in Christ.
By the way apostasy... Find yourself a good church that teaches repentance and life.

I am slightly confused. If you are saying that at 15 someone forced you to join their religion, without your choice, then now as an adult it is time for you to move on. If you are saying you chose to join, but now wish to move on, then do so. Calling other religions you show interest in "Cults" just makes yourself bad. Many people raised in various faiths decide they feel one way or another about religion. As long as you try to blame your choices/feelings on your past faith you will never be able to grow.

You're very right about the great apostasy. Restoration movements are not new; the Mormons and the JW's are just the ones with the most efficient business model, so they are the ones that have made the most money and followers.

The truth is that the Bible teaches that the Restitution (Restoration) of all things is not supposed to occur until Jesus Christ himself comes back to reign on Earth during the Millenium. Last time I checked, contrary to the JWs' "invisible return" joke, the Lord's not back yet. No man knows the hour!

I'd say just to become comfortable with your understanding of God's word, realize that although the Bible is a very good source, it is not perfect, and commit yourself to following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Let your words be "Yea, Yea, Nay, Nay". Confess Jesus Christ and don't worry about man-made religion, for anything added to that is of the devil.
