I have to say that I've never seen one quite as bad as that one. My Department was exceedingly strict and operated under the premis that, if somebody made a complaint about you, you must have done something wrong unless you prove that you didn't.

I have to say that this is the exception to the rule - an aberration, if you will. IF these allegations have legs and are true (and I am naturally suspect of media reports as they rarely have all the facts), then the department is a good candidate to be disbanded like Compton was some years ago. The LASD can take over services there, but with some lack of local control over the quality and type of service. But, to get rid of this kind of problem it might be the only alternative, unless the city gets serious about change.

The article alleges what concerns the general public along with law enforcement who work their hardest to provide the public with an "untarnished" example of the true professionals in this business.
Having been in law enforcement for over 30 years, I find a very disgusting taste in my mouth when hearing of such pathetic examples of those who fail to maintain the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
I have no qualms about those who made a mistake in their lives that was due to circumstances...but not gross negligence or disregard for the law. However, those allegations made in the article are serious and should be dealt with harshly if found to be the truth!
Best wishes!

What a disgrace. If that city cares, they will take action immediately to restructure that department.
