It should be a man & a woman holding a baby. They should be surrounded by nature. Grass & trees & flowers & animals. There would be a path behind them & more of that path leading forward... in the distance you can see that the path behind them forked off & the other route of the path would be filled with sheep leading into a hole in the ground filled with fire. The expressions on the faces of the couple would show a happiness that only atheists know because we are unbound by the fear of mythological creatures deciding our fates & punishing us for not following their way. They are happy because they know that their lives are not ruled by fear or prejudice.
To wolfman: A monument is not a god. A monument pays tribute to people or symbolizes beliefs. The lincoln memorial does not suggest that people in the U.S.A believe lincoln was a god. They are paying tribute to him & his legacy. Atheists creating a statue is no different than someone putting up a statue to pay tribute to someone or show what they believe.
It's better than putting up a statue for a fictional character from the bible. That's like McDonald's making a monument for Ronald McDonald.

I would say that it should just be a plain piece of stone, with all the evidence against the existence of god/s and furthermore retorts to all the illogical arguments of ignorant people who cant even logically debate their view point... ha ha that would piss alot of people off, if it was just a rock written all over with logical, rational scientific answers to all the misconceptions fundamentalists spread around.. Right at the top too in huge letters it should say "In response to this inane question... "If humans came from apes then why are there still apes?" Get it through your head people that IS NOT even a logical argument it shows ignorance plain and simple.." followed by a detailed explanation of exactly why that question is so stupid and is not a real argument at all, maybe then people will stop asking it like they have just disproved hundreds of years of scientific study.. lol

It should be a statue about life. They arnt bogged down by a controlling religion. Athiests live life to the fullest because they have no preferenc in god so they dont need to worrie about sinning which the way catholics make things they would practicaly say that life is a sin itself. So it sould be about a carefree life to its fullest!

A statue of Alburt Einstein or the guy who wrote Huckberry Fin. I can't remember his name off the top of my head right now but the man never had a high regard of church.

A 1000 foot mirror because everyone one who comes to see it wants to be thought of a being more intellectual and advanced than anyone else. This way they at least get what they pay for.

If youre an atheist, you don't believe in god, and if you build a monument then that would become your god, and technically you wouldn't be an atheist anymore because your worshiping an idol built to atheism. Anything built to an object or religion is an idol and when your honoring it, it becomes a form of idol worship which in turn is having a god(an idol god). It should look like lucifer because "The greatest trick that the devil acheived is convincing man that he doesn't exist".
