I'm feeding Purina Pro Plan turkey and barley, supplemented with Sport Mix to get a better protein and fat ratio. None of the really top grade foods are available to me, but I find the Pro Plan to be quite good.

Well, My adult Chihuahua gets the Innova Evo and the Innova Evo Red Meat. It has no by-products, no fillers, no wheat products, and is made with human grade meats and good vegetables...It's really good. Ever since I changed his food, his hair is shinier, he has less shedding. His teeth are whiter and he is more energetic. My Chihuahua Puppy gets the Innova Puppy...IT is just as good as the Evo, except as it has a little more vitamins and minerals that the pup needs to grow healthy. But, lately he has been stealing the Evo from my other dog, and won't touch his food, so I am giving him that now. What I don't get is that the Evo has smaller bites than the Innova Puppy, even tho it is for small breeds and it is small as it is...I think that is why my puppy likes the Evo better...Plus it probably tastes better.
There is a website that has a bunch of dog food brands and the ingredients and how good they are by a star rating (1 star to 6 stars)..The Innova Evo and Innova Evo Red Meat is a 6 star food and the Innova Puppy is a 5 star food.
Here is the website:

Most of the foods that you would find at wal-mart or the grocery store like Iams, Science Diet, Pedigree, Eukanuba, etc. are all 1 star foods. That just tells you how crappy they are.

Nature's Variety.
It is USDA certified for human consumption, so I know that there won't be any diseased bovine or poisioned wheat gluten. Actually, there's no wheat at all.
Right now I'm doing Lamb and Oatmeal because I have a suspicion my Westie has a problem with Wheat.
I highly recommend it. Also look into Innova Evo

My girl gets Science Diet sensitive stomach. She has acid issues and she seems to be able to digest this better than cheap kibbles. She loves it too. I chose this brand because there are only a couple of types of food for sensitive tummy's for me to choose from and I figure if the vet sells the stuff, it must be good.

I am now feeding Candiea. I switched because of the recalls and I am happy I did. This food is considered human grade and has no wheat or corn or any by products or fillers. My dogs really like it and it was not as expensive as I had first thought.

I feed mine Royal Canin Dry Food. My vet recommended it. It's a good quality, healthy dog food, and mine all love it.

All of my dogs eat (Innova) EVO food with some raw meat mixed in. There's no grains in it and it lasts quite a while, I also like what it does to their teeth and coats, it works really well. I swear by it..

Performatrin Ultra Lamb and Brown Rice.
Mixed with Performatrin Ultra Salmon
Like the ingredients, no corn (got dogs that are allergic to corn) no horrible cancer causing preservatives... and the dogs do great on it.

I use Science Diet. I get mine at a Tractor Supply here in Michigan and it is so much cheaper than at the pet stores. Tractor Supply is a farm type store. I'm sure you have the equivalent of this around your area.
