I have been taking it for almost a year. It started helping me a little almost right away. The literature said that it could take a few weeks, but I noticed an improvement sooner than that.

One side effect I had was daytime sleepiness. I got over this in about a month. I am not sure if this was a side effect or lingering effects of my depression. I know it can be a side effect of Cymbalta.

I gained some weight on Cymbalta, but again I am not sure if that was all the medication's fault. I had not been eating at all. I know when you starve yourself, once you start eating again your body starts storing fat.

I hope this helped you somewhat. Good luck on the medication.

I am on it for depression and anxiety, and have been for several months. Had no problem with side effects, but it took a long time and a couple dosage adjustments til I started to feel better. I don't even know for sure that it's Cymbalta that is helping me because I've also been prescribed some new meds - they could be the ones that are helping me. To sum it up, I don't care much for Cymbalta.

I love it. I use it for a variety of things: depression, anxiety and pain of fibromyalgia. It took about a month to start working. I wasalmost thinking it wouldn't. At first, I had dizziness, nausea, lack of appetite, couldn't sleep. I believe I had more side effects from Cymbalta than any antidepressant. But, once it started working, it works very good.

I really liked this med. I was on it pain, depression, anxiety and other stuff. The only problem was I gained 15 pounds and having an eating disorder...that didn't go over too well...otherwise I would still be on it
