one of the things i hate the most is the act of chewing food with your freakin' mouth open.

I HATE IT!

i hate the sounds it produces. i hate seeing ppl do it! i hate it so much!

esp when i'm eating and he's eating. and he goes (i dont know how to describe the sound).

it just drives to nuts!

Yes, and people look like hogs when they do it. My junior high English teacher used to say "The only difference between you chewing that gum and a cow chewing its cud is the intelligent look on the cow's face."

That said, not EVERYBODY who chews gum has their mouth gaping open. I have been disgusted by the way some people look (Britney Spears comes to mind...when is that woman NOT chewing gum?!) so I make a conscious effort to keep my mouth closed when I chew.

Oooops...I read your question wrong at first. I thought you were talking about gum. But yeah, chewing food with your mouth open is nasty too. I had that "smacking" sound!

it is annoying and it's gross because what if food from their mouth flies out and lands on your food or worse on you. It would be really embarrassing for the both of you. If you know that someone chews with their mouth open just try to avoid sitting next to that person.

Together with talking with their mouth full.

Basic, basic manners.

I won't answer a question while I have food in my mouth (drives the chewer/talkers crazy).

Should a piece of their food fly out into the air (I have seen this) I just comment "that was lovely". They are oblivious to how piggish this makes them look.

Yeah, it's pretty gross. Anyone over the age of 10 who still does it should be required to go to an etiquette class.

Yes annoying chompers and loud breathers annoy me too. So does just making loud eating noises in general. It doesn't make me want to eat at all.

Yes. Annoying and gross. Just let him know that you're perfectly happy with your own meal, and that he doesn't need to share his.

YES. I AGREE 100%!!!!!! IT'S VERY ANNOYING, DISGUSTING, DISTRACTING, AND NAUSEATING. MY DAUGHTERS ARE 5 AND 10 AND THEY WERE TAUGHT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING THAT DOING SUCH A NASTY THING WILL ONLY LEAVE THEM HUNGRY. I WILL NOT ALLOW SUCH NONSENSE AT MY TABLE. PERIOD.
