If the ring is on his thumb it is no longer a wedding ring ... it becomes just a piece of jewelry. A wedding band should always be worn on the left ring finger.

the wedding ring should be warn on the ring finger, the 2nd finger from the left on the left hand. People say that the reason for this is because a vein runs straight from that finger to the heart, and the heart signifies love.
Another reason that he might be wearing it on his thumb is because it might be to big for his ring finger, and he doesn't wnat to loose it. If this is the case, go and get it sized so that he may wear it on the proper finger.

No, why would he and how in the world does it fit the thumb after fitting the ring finger?
If your divorced and had it sized for the thumb, then I think that would be fine, but a man with a thumb ring?

By right, no! The wedding band is to be wore on the left fourth finger. At most, I can accept is my husband wearing the wedding band on a necklace around his neck.
However, if your wife doesn't mind, then you are one lucky man.

No, your wedding ring should be worned on the left ringer if you don't know which finger that is it's the one between the little finger and your middle finger on your left hand.

If he wants, hell, if he wants, he doens't even have to wear a ring. The ring does not tell people he is married because most people do not look.
