Taking Tylenol for the first few days after you get your braces tightnened should help with the discomfort. As for the expander, you will eventually get used to it.
Next time be sure of what colors you want before putting them on. Now you will have to wait till your next appointment to have the colors replaced.

1. Switch your diet to easy to swallow food such as purees, oatmeal, milkshakes.
2. For the colors, next time that you visit your dentist, request to have the colors changed.
The whole situation is temporary, once the braces come off, you will have a fabulous smile.

Try taking some advil or motrin. It should help with the pain. Eat soft foods (applesauce, soup, pudding) for a few days also. The pain should subside within a few days.

I would take Advil Extra Strength to help with the pain ! I would also suggest using wax that the orthodonist should have given you to help sooth the pain that wax also helps with the colors it will cover them up !
Hope your mouth feels better !
Have a good day !

I HAD .. and still have BRaces on me T_T .. well for the pain .. yeap .. it'll last for a day or two then it'll all be fine ! .. Dont worry about the pain !.. it occurs in the first few times you tighten your brace ! .. after a few months it'll get pretty normal and you'll totally forget about it ! ..

have some mashed potatoes and chicken soup and liquidy foods that you won't need to chew. take an advil or a motrin to relieve the pain. the colors won't matter, it's not like people will be staring inside your mouth.
GOOD LUCK :-)

Well although its hard to hear the only thing you can do is to wait it out. The pain will subside and it will get easier to eat.
If the pain is really bad you may have to resort to painkillers (not advised)
Drink shakes that fill you up.
With regards to the colour your screwed. :(
