interesting take on it. i wonder, is R&S the busiest catogory here? because i've been in the others and my questions only get one or two answers, on this and the relationship catorgory i get loads. mayb its a case of everyone being an expert- in their opinion. OR mayb the debate on religion is STILL the most had one! i mean we have been arguing for years...(whose got the right religion) well we will never agree! but perhaps we can all agree to disagree.....; )

I think most people stay on R & S because they have opinions they want to share and because this is where they can have discussions or arguments
this is the place to safely argue those that don't agree with you, and this is the place where you can truly speak your mind
I wouldn't ever imagine telling my Christian friends how I really feel about their religion because first and foremost is our friendship....so R & S allows me to be able to express my contempt in a socially acceptable manner without doing true harm to my friendships
I also think that there are people on R & S that are here because we know that there are a lot of inaccuracies about our particular religion being spread about because those that aren't our religion are talking about it as if they were an authority figure....so we feel the need to stick around to correct all the crap
I find this to be particularly true of Judaism.....there are so many times that those that aren't Jewish go about telling others what Jews think and they are completely wrong, thus leaving a person to get the wrong idea about Judaism and Jews....
that, and it's just fun to see what the stupid people will come up with next

I come here to visit with friends. I suppose that's a little pathetic but I have RA and it's difficult to get around in the outside world. So here I visit with r+s users and a dear friend through mail chat. We met in this forum, so I suppose the human contact thing holds very true for me.

I do learn some things on R&S, but I'm mostly here for the giggles and friends.

No, because if one wanted true human contact, it would be done in person, not on the internet with anonymous strangers.
