the benefits are that you forever wear a piece of art or memorial that you cherish. don't get a tat for the wrong reason and it will have all the benefits in the world.

don't listen to the crazy haters...

Health wise there really are none.

However tattoos can act as a healer from bad events of the past and make you feel better about what you cannot change. They can act as a reminder in the future about things you've gone through and how you got to be the person you are now. If you get meaningful tattoos they will be something you will never truly regret.

For some people a well chosen and placed tattoo can make them feel a little better about themselves. Some women feel more sexy with a lower back tattoo and some men feel more masculine if they get an arm band or something.

It really just comes down to a matter of personal taste, feeling and opinion about what a tattoo is worth to you, and only you.

Please don't listen to the haters. While they may be correct to take a quick glance and say there is no plus of getting a tattoo, many people have argued otherwise. And they just don't know how to live :-P

Try looking up Avalon Tattoo's- they're the best (if you live in S. California. By benefits- do you mean, choosing the right one? I have 14 tats and I'd like to laser most of them off. MAKE SURE the design is something you will NOT regret. Don't use the flash tats- design something special on your own, or ask your tattooer to draw something you might like. You'll have a one of a kind tat, and that's great because no one else will have that same tat as you! But make positively sure that you WANT to have a tattoo. I'm sure there are a ton of sites for tattoos and there are about three magazines I can think of that are devoted to the art of tattooing. But remember, once you get it, it's on your skin forever. So do research and choose wisely. Because when you get old, the tat is going to fade and stretch.

Think about owning a piece of art. If someone goes and commissions a painting, people generally wouldn't ask "well, what's the benefit of that?" They'd accept that it was unique, beautiful, the work of a talented professional, bringing something new into the world.

All the same stuff applies to tattoos. But because they're an artwork worn on the skin, they're also more personal; they can be a way of commemorating something (like an achievement, the death of a loved one, or the birth of a child) or of expressing oneself to the world.

Hope this helps!

speaking as a 17 year old with 3 tattoos my answer would be yes, there ARE benefits of getting tattoos, the major one being that you permanantly have something displayed on your body that means a great deal to you for some reason or another.

Well they don't give medical insurance or a 401K... jk

Benefits of a tattoo hmmm...well that can vary...for me personally, my benefit was this...and this is solely a benefit for me. My tattoo doesn't affect any other aspect of my life. My tattoo is a celebration of my daughter being born and coming into my husband's and my life...it reminds me of my little girl and how much she means to me. My daughter also loves to look at it and point out that it's a baby. (she's almost 2)...

Tattoos can be done in memory of something, a celebration, anything you want really...or if you simply want to decorate your body.

best of luck...

There can be mental and emotional benefits. Tattoo artists (or, the ones I know, anyway...) can act like a healer of sorts...when people come to get a memorial tattoo, or something representative of a struggle they have overcome, the act of getting the tattoo can be cathartic. When you get a tattoo that is right for you, with meaning for you, it can only benefit you. =0)

if you are talking about health benefits or something the answer is no.

but tattoos have different meanings to some people. sometimes they boost someone's confidence or makes them feel better about themselves and that would be a benefit.

sometimes tattoos are gotten to hide scars and that is beneficial to the bearer who may have been self conscious before.

some tattoos make women feel more feminine and men feel more masculine which is again beneficial to one's ego.

Healthwise there is none. Socially there are varied opinions about a person wearing a tattoo. Monetarily it could set you off significant money depending on the number of colors and the size of the tattoo. Only the tattoo artists can benefit from it.

yes, it`s a beautiful work of permanent art that can commemorate an important event in your life, a special person (i wouldn`t recommend doing the significant other`s name however), celebrates a favorite interest or theme, etc...it`s beneficial because u will have something amazing on your body that u will be proud of the rest of your life, therefore making u happy!!! that`s my thought anyway!!!
