I have a 26 inch waist, and 33 inch hips. My friends keep telling me how skinny I am (sometimes skinny in general, or at the waist), and I was wondering if that really is something to be worried about. Does anyone know if that's a proper proportion or not? Is that supposed to be what we all know as "curvy" or is it something else? I would really love to know. Please and thank you.

You're not too skinny, you're perfect. That the ideal waist/hip ratio that millions of girls out there are dying to have, and you have it.
You're perfect! And funny too, usually girls think they're too skinny when their breast or hip are too small. It's the first time I know that a girl worried that her waist is too small.
Be proud of it, wear your bikini and let the guys awe you and the girls envy you.

I think your measurement isn't too small, but it's also depends, how tall are you? I think curvy is the more appropriate description for you.
I'm a small skinny girl myself, just 5'5" and the last time I check my waist was only 21 inch and my hips was 28. My friend sometimes throw a joke that I'll be disappear from the side.
I love my body though, my only problem is finding clothes that fit and looks nice, the kids department don't have too much options . . . .

It depends on how tall you are.
I'm 5ft, 25 inch waist and 35 inch hips.
I'm trying to hit 21 inch waist and 31 inch hips cuz thats what I was like 2 years ago before I gained weight from puberty.
I've always been known to have a skinny waist though.

You are thin but not skinny. You should be happy that you dont have to worry about being overweight or so. your stats seem to be all right. As for a curvaceous figure, its a natural endowment that few are blessed with. Its not easy or maybe even possible to have it artificially. One can judge only after seeing. I had it once. long time back that is and I spoiled it by being a junkie. take care that anything like that doesnt happen to you.

If you are between 15 and 30 years old, between 4'-0" and 5'-7", never had children, and don't feel unattractive, don't worry about it. You probably look great. If you are 6'-0", male, 50 years old, and spend hours in front of the computer like me, then I'd say you're skinny!

Although 33 inch hips are tiny, that may just be your natural bone structure.

A good waist/hip ratio is below 0.8 and yours is about 0.78 so you are fine.

HTH : )

you are really lucky . many people in this world want to be skinny (especially like me). there is nothing wrong.you are right they may just be exaggerating. don't take it seriously.being thin is good.you would be disease-resistant.(like diabetes, stroke etc).you need not worry .anyway its a trend now.

It sounds pretty normal to me. The "perfect" measurements were always thought of as 36-24-36, so you're pretty close to that. Just don't get any thinner, or you could become unhealthy.
