**The question is why are they capable of doing so.

For those that don't know what it means it means that they can do it even though they may choose not to.

To create giants so we have more silly **** to read about in the Bible.

Wrong answer Primoa......as usual.

Genesis 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

The freaking Greek Titans are in the Bible!......HILARIOUS!

Looking carefully and without a preconceived notion, we see that Jesus said that the angels "in heaven" DO NOT marry (nor presumably - have sex, reproduce). He did not state that angels "in general" CAN NOT do so. An unmarried Christian who - like the angels of God in heaven - wishes to remain obedient to God's will, "does not" have sex, but not because he or she is physically incapable of doing so.

That angels cannot have sex would be a fair interpretation of this passage, if this were the only passage in scripture that came close to dealing with the topic. It is not however, and therefore any interpretation of this scripture will be in accord with all else that is written. Jude 6 and 2 Peter 2:4-6 clearly indicate that the sin of these angels was sexual in nature, affirming the hybrid understanding of Genesis 6.

When they "shape-shift," angels can appear like perfectly normal humans (Heb 13:2). We know from the Old Testament that they not only appear human, but that they can eat food as well (Genesis 18:6-8; 19:3. In fact, angels eat when in their "normal" state - Psalm 78:24-25 tells us that manna is the "food of angels"). There is no reason to assume that angels do not contain all the physical properties of a normal human being, when assuming human form. However, they are not human, which goes a long way towards understanding why their children were "superhuman" (known as the heroes of old, men of renown, legends, Titans, Giants... depending upon your Bible translation.)

While far-fetched or disturbing to some, Matthew 22:30 simply does not dogmatically infer that sexual reproduction is a physical impossibilty for angelic beings. In fact, since Jesus specified the angels "in heaven," one would have to go beyond what is actually written (AND ignore what else IS written) to state that angels that ARE NOT in heaven - fallen - seeking to thwart God's purposes - CAN NOT have sex.

As Jesus said above, "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures..." Taken as a whole, the entire body of scripture indicates otherwise.

We really do not know the full nature of the Angelic beings, it may be that the lower orders were created slightly above us and that we share some common traits and abilities while the higher Angels are more like God in form, we do know that some of the fallen Angels had intercourse with Women and created the giants known as the Nepthilim.
It is all very much clouded in mystery and paradox.

Angels in their spiritual form cannot reproduce. They are created beings of God, each individually formed by God and his son, Jesus. The only time the angels reproduced is when they came to earth and materialized human bodies and went "taking wives, all whom they chose." Those angels were condemned by God for doing something contrary to their nature, and their offspring was killed at the flood. Those angels are in what is known as "Tartarus", or a place away from God's blessing. Now they are servants of another angel who fell, Satan. These fallen angels are still fascinated by human procreation - and we see the sad results in the amount of rape, incest, exploitation and molestation in this world.

The short answer is angels are spirits, Heb 1:14 and they don't marry, Matt 22:30. Consequently they don't reproduce. The Bible doesn't say they ever did reproduce. These articles will help you with some of the things people hypothesize about angels outside of Biblical truth.

Disclaimer: Personal opinions stated here.

It seems to me that when God created his angels, He endowed them with a range of powers to assist him, assuming that they would use personal discretion and only use them in a way that would please Him.
They chose to come to the Earth and materialize (take on the form of human bodies), and, Lo and Behold, they were able to produce hybrids known as the Nephilim. God did not restrict this because he probably did not imagine that they would do this in the first place. (remember that Free Will and Fate can't possibly coincide)
Since that time, God has effectively put restrictions on what his loyal army of angels as well as Satan and his demons are able to do, but keep in mind they are still supernatural beings and therefore are much more powerful than us. That explains why demons enjoy possessing and sexually harassing humans and animals.

It is a theory not a fact. They assume that fallen angels created the nephilim, but there are other theories like adams family liked the daughters of Cains and thats were the Nephilim came from. fallen angels can possess humans and monipulate them as well and mess up the gene pool.

Angels are asexual (sexless) and for this reason, they are pure. You know virgins are "pure" because they haven't had sex; same thing goes for angels. God created the angels to serve Him. There's no need for reproduction.

I know that there's a passage in the Bible that refers to the "Sons of God" having sexual relationships with mortal women. The "Sons of God" were mere men with extreme strength and bravery. Angels were never referred to as "The Sons of God" in the Bible. The Phillistines (like Goliath for example) were a group of tall, strong warriors, identifiable only with that particular tribe. The angels are "sexless"; they CANNOT reproduce.

maybe they also have this celibacy thing up there. but if they do reproduce then we wouldn't know because they're not here on earth. It's even already hard to get some information in remote areas of the planet... what more for the metaphysical :P
