When your body dies everything about you still goes on such as your mentality, consciousness, soul etc, instead of loosing something you gain something which is not possible to describe in words, according to NDE’s (near death experience) people they say they get to experience a high level of consciousness surrounded by a relax peace and love, they feel as if everything they lived in their life time, was a dream or a nightmare and that they have finally woke up from it , from there onwards you get to create the heaven that comes from you heart

Hi, I wish I could demonstrate on here to all the disbelievers that we do live on. As a spiritualist medium I have contact with those who have departed this earth and have given, many times, absolute proof that it is so. When your earthly body dies your soul or spirit leaves that body and returns to spirit world (or Heaven as some call it) regardless of whether you believe or not. Your spirit/soul is met and guided over by your loved ones who are already there. Hope this is enough info to put your mind at rest x

We become non-existent.
We exist nowhere, just like before we were born.
Jesus referred to death as sleep. John 11:11-14.
Sleeping people are aware of nothing.
This coincides with Ecclesiastes 9:5 "...the dead are conscious of nothing at all."
No torment, no fire, not even going to heaven.
Is that the end of everything? No.
Jesus spoke of a: resurrection, a re-making.
However, it doesn't happen right away.
He spoke of a future time when it would get underway.
Where will they be resurrected?
On earth, an earth transformed into a lovely place.
Psalm 37:29.

Well, the first thing you notice is that you are no longer breathing. And your heart beat kinda stops. That only lasts for a few moments though. Then all your friends gather around you and cry about you being gone.
They have a funeral for you where they profess to be really sorry that you have stopped breathing but really they are thinking, "thank God it's not me." Then all your friends and even many of your enemies talk about what a great person you were and how they were your best friend.

After that the main thing is who is going to get your money and belongings. This, of course, leads to the "I know what that person would have wanted to be done with her stuff." And that leads to arguments about just who you loved the most and therefore who is the most worthy of all your friends and relatives.

And after that, they go on with their lives and forget about you, unless they were the ones that got most of your stuff, to them you are raised to sainthood. Something like that. Seen it many times.

This is the most important question to answer in life and if I did not have the joy and assurance of the promise of Jesus Christ that He has a place prepared for me where He is, I would be very worried and concerned about the whole issue of death. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (1 Cor. 15:55) How it happens and where it happens are in the Lord's hands, but what matters is going to be with Him.

As an atheist I know it's the end, though I desperately hope it isn't.
Life's a proccess, like beating an egg. When I stop beating an egg, no remnant or spirit of the egg continues, and logic, unfortunately, tells me that this is also relevant to life.

You stop breathing, your heart stops beating and your brain shuts down amongst other things.

If you are talking about heaven, hell and stuff like that then nothing happens, you just die.

"And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul." -- Genesis 2:7
The Bible says that the man is a soul. If you read careful you realize that dust + breath of life = a living soul. So, there's nothing in us that survives after death and we are not immortal. "The soul that is sinning—it itself will die." -- Ezekiel 18:4.

What happens with the soul after it dies? It just decomposes. "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.” -- Genesis 3:19.
