30 April 1975 is the date of the fall of Saigon when the famous picture of the last of the US personnel pulling out on helio's from the roof of the embassy. For us August 12, 1972 the last Combat troops and the last flights out April 30, 1975 left or for them, the South Vietnamese was April 30, 1975. When the NVA entered Saigon they were kicking patients out of hospitals, including those on the operating table!

So the South Vietnamese surrenderd on April 30, 1975!

Nixon signed the Paris Peace Accord on January 27, 1973
