Personally I like rolled linoleum. It's a breeze to clean and lasts for years. Tiled starts to peel up after a while due to the high moisture and dirt settles into the groves. I would definitely go with the rolled.

I've gutted and remodeled several baths and other rooms on my own over the years and I would recommend the sheet vinyl (linoleum) over the individual tiles. The problem in baths is moisture and temperature changes, both of which will tend, over time, to cause even the highest quality tile to start to lift or crack at the seams. I've had good success with both the glue-down sheet vinyl and the heavier "glass-backed" stuff that you simply tape around the edges and a few spots in the middle. I prefer the glue-down in a bath with shower and tub. Moisture is what destroys any bath structure or surface from the inside out so your safest bet is to use the materials that best seal the wooden structure from water invasion. Some of the higher end vinyls look exactly like ceramic tile or stone but are much easier to install and keep clean (plus they are warmer on you feet.)

If you do decide to use the tiles anyway, stick with the TrafficMaster brand commercial grade. They are heavier and have better adhesive than any other brand I have encountered. I did use their stone-look tiles in a small bath once but I bought grey tinted silicone caulk that matched the tile and sealed ALL of the seams between tiles with it.

I've used both. I liked them each the same. Now I have the ceramic tile & grout. HATE it. Very pretty but hard to keep clean. And it seems the grout is easily washed away. I bought the house last yr at this time. The seller gutted it so that the kitchen & two baths have this ceramic tile. I actually loved the look. Made it look "rich" but now after living here I'd of preferred the tiled linoleum over everything else. Good luck!

Rolled; eventually the tile squares will begin to separate under constant use.
And beware - most people use rubber backed mats in the bathroom - they will stain linoleum (especially white) and it can't be cleaned.

I would say rolled only because the tiles may come up with all the water that gets on the bathroom floors after showering etc.

i have never had good results with sheet vinyl ( expensive stuff is supposed to be good )

vct, however is in my 1965 circa beach house with few chips & has shrunk & opened up 1/16" gaps, vinyl tile is much more durable & wear surface is through & through
