So where did hell come from if the devil created it, why would he want to tortue all the 'bad' souls that go there? wouldnt it be better for him to build an army to try and destroy God for good?
Or did God create it to torment the devil and all of the bad souls???

God created hell for a place for anyone who refused His plan of righteousness to get away from His presence. From the book of revelations, whether you take it literally or symbolically, the lake of fire is prepared by God for those who refuse His plan.

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: "Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared. Come and eat the flesh of kings, captains, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great."
Then I saw the beast gathering the kings of the earth and their armies in order to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast-miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came out of the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And all the vultures of the sky gorged themselves on the dead bodies.

Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand. He seized the dragon-that old serpent, the Devil, Satan-and bound him in chains for a thousand years. The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he would be released again for a little while.
Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus, for proclaiming the word of God. And I saw the souls of those who had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their forehead or their hands. They came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. This is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.) Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.
When the thousand years end, Satan will be let out of his prison. He will go out to deceive the nations from every corner of the earth, which are called Gog and Magog. He will gather them together for battle-a mighty host, as numberless as sand along the shore. And I saw them as they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded God's people and the beloved city. But fire from heaven came down on the attacking armies and consumed them.
Then the Devil, who betrayed them, was thrown into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

And I saw a great white throne, and I saw the one who was sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done. The sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the grave* gave up the dead in them. They were all judged according to their deeds. And death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death-the lake of fire. And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

The Devil created Hell. Lucifer was a very beautiful angel in Heaven but it went to his head and he began to think he was as good as God. God exiled Lucifer/Satan/the devil, call him what you will from Heaven. Wherever it was the Lucifer went, that became Hell, the place that he made his 'home.

He is bitter, angry, resentful against God for expelling him and wants to hurt Him and the best way he knows is to turn the ultimate of God's creation away from Him. The one 'thing' that God literally put His heart and soul into - us.

Lucifer didn't have the power to destroy God by force although he does have an army as about a third of the angels believed him and fell with him. Satan doesn't have the power to create so he still has the same number of demons as he had on that Day but God can create angels at will, there are more for us than are against us.

He is trying to build an army but Jesus has already won the battle he only has so long on this earth they he will be banished, Jesus has won the Victory, all Christians are in Gods Army there will be a great battle or Armegodon you have to read Revelation at the back of the bible. God has a place for eternal punishment. Jesus has the keys of heaven and hell. An Elim Pentecostal Church will inform you - help you learn - the bible is the manual for our lifes I'm glad it is there. Maybe you should go to an Alpha course.

Short answer: Neither of them created hell.
Longer answer: "Hell" as it is recognized 2day is a concoction of the Catholic Church based upon Plato's teaching of the immortal soul (unscriptural). This concept stems from ancient Babylon, where it was believed that after death, the departed souls were either rewarded with bliss or eternally tormented.

The words in the Bible that were eventually translated as "hell" in English are Sheol, Hades, (which both signify the grave), Tartarus (which signifies the debased condition of the demons), and Gehenna (which represents everlasting destruction/annihilation).

The Bible teaches us that @ death one ceases to exists in thought and deed (Ecclesiastes 9:5). It also promises that the time is coming when God will resurrect those whom he sees fit (Daniel 12:2, John 5:28,29, Acts 24:15).

Many of the passages that are used to support the notion of torture in a fiery hell become clearer when they are viewed without this bias. The book of Revelation is largely symbolic, and its references to a "lake of fire and sulphur/brimstone" are even explained to mean the "second death" (annilhilation). If a fiery hell is a literal place, could it actually be emptied and then thrown into the lake of fire alongside Death and the Wild Beast and False Prophet?

The example of the Rich Man and Lazarus was a parable used by Jesus to represent the coming change in favor enjoyed by the religious leaders of his time and the common people.

Human logic (which we derived from our Creator) also tells us that no loving Father would torment any of His children eternally for any amount of evil they committed in their relatively short lifetimes. And remember, the Bible says that even Jesus Christ himself was in "hell" for a short period of time. Would it not make more sense that he was asleep in the common grave of mankind during the time of his death than walking around in a fiery hell?

So, 1ce again, neither God nor the Devil created Hell, because there really is no such thing (@ least not in the sense that most people believe).

Hi, first of all the Devil cannot create it is beyond the powers given to him by God to do so,therefore God created Hell for the Devil and the other fallen Angels who will never repent and in fact once they rebelled they could never regain their Angelic state again, and so they are now what we call Demons, they work night and day to cause us to rebell against God too and so like themselves lose eternal happinesss in Heaven.
The Devil cannot destroy God but he does try to destroy all that God made good and that includes ourselves.

The devil created the need for hell. God responded by providing the place demanded by the devil - a place entirely removed from the presence of God, Whose presence the devil had eternally rejected.

God ... to torment the devil and his followers.

The teachings of hell in the Bible are certainly unpopular. Jesus taught more about hell than anyone else in the Bible (see Luke 16:19+).

Some verses mention "eternal separation from God" or "outer darkness" which seem relatively benign. Others are terrifying, and it seems unbelievable that God would condemn anyone to eternal, conscious torment.

The only hell that exists is the one you create for yourself in your own mind. Which can be very real since we create our own life with our minds. However, the only ones that will go there are the ones that believe in it.

Your version of hell actually comes from Egyptian mythology that worked its way into the bible from the "Moses Exodus" from Egypt.

P.S. There is no Devil or bad souls either, just Karma.

Hell exists because of man.
One man in particular .....Adam.
He rejected the gift of life God offered.
So, man ended up going to hell.
NOT a place of fiery torment, to suffer and be poked by the devil.
That is a silly invention of the catholic church.
Hell is the grave ....6 feet under.
To put it more succinctly: it is the state of non-existence.
God gives Adam life.
Adam says 'no thanks'.
Adam returns to not existing.
There is a 'hope' for the dead.
Christ referred to it as: resurrection, a re-making.
But that is for a future time.

God created hell for the devil and the demons...it was never purposed for humans but since we become Gods enemy when we refuse him some of us will end up there as well.

In short, hell is the spiritual distance from God and heaven. In a sense, yes, the Fallen Angel created a place for 'high-spiritual-challenged' humans to go to after physical death. But it's not necessarily that of fire and brimstone. Of course, there's more to it then my pithy nutshell explanation.
