I don't understand your question. You would edit them the same way as you would any photo.

If you're asking how to get an image that is usable as a passport photo, then you had better go to www .us.gov /passport and read the requirements for a passport photo. Among other things, 2"x2", color, well exposed, white or off-white background, head not to exceed blah blah measurements, no head gear or tinted glasses, etc etc etc.

I will tell you, the passport folks are picky about the requirements. You might be better off to go to Eckerd or somewhere that routinely takes passport photos. They will have the equipment to get it right the first time.

Go here and look at the various menu items. This is a very helpful site if you want to take your own photos. There is a lot more to it than just making a 2x2 head shot.

I followed their suggestions and produced excellent passport photos for my son this year.

This is for USA passports.

it depends on the resolution of the image. pixels are just a measurement for a computer, not for the physical size of something. does it have somewhere where you can change the dpi? because in that case it is possible to calculate what the physical size of the image will be from the pixels. i just calculated it in photoshop and at 300 dpi a 4.5 by 3.5 cm is 531 by 413 pixels. i'd recoment 300 dpi for printing. edit: in response to the person bellow me, i am using dpi to mean PPI (the density of the pixels per inch in an image). i know they are different but i have a habit of using them interchangably. regardless, pixels are still not the physical size of an image in any way, despite the fact that it would look horrible if you tried to print a low res image big.

To save all the time, hassle and frustration of trying to please the passport office pay for them to be done by somebody experienced (most high street camera shops) you may think your photos are just right but the passport agency will tell you otherwise
