The only way to begin is by reverence for God. For growth in wisdom comes from obeying His laws. Praise His name forever." - PSALM 111:10

Men can become wise by:

1. admitting they dont know everything- this puts man in a state where he has to constantly learn because he knows so little.

2. talk less, contemplate more

3. observe nature to see greater forces at work

Eventually, through these 3, one would hope that man would see God, with the eyes of the heart, rather than the eyes of the world.

God said that his people parish because of the lack of knowledge. He also says that if we lack wisdom to ask him for some. So a man can be wiser by praying to god for wisdom.

you can be wise without the need of a god or of books written by 'men' . It is easy enough to be a wise person without being brainwashed by laughable scriptures, which can be twisted into any meaning you want - look at how televangalists, fanatics, terrorists, priests, churches, believers and politicians twist the words of various religious texts into the thing they want to (and you) to believe in. Anyone who is wise should know this!
