I was soft as clarts.
I let everyone walk over me and got beaten up on a regular basis but I loved school (just wish I could have been the only pupil). I learned to play the E flat bass (tuba) and was in the choir, orchestra, recorder group and band.
I was also a pupil librarian and we (Karen, Darren and I) had an unofficial Blake's Seven Fan Club. Miss Barber (the school's librarian) used to get us the magazines which I still have.
I loved the uniform. I was in Stratford which meant that I had a green oval around a depiction of the Torrens (a tall ship). I loved the tie, although I hardly ever wore it. I'm Dyspraxic and didn't have the manual dexterity for tie tying, same reason I wear slip on shoes. Shoe laces are a nightmare for me.
I loved the fact that Mr. Almond would sweep into the school hall every morning for Assembly wearing his 'cloak' and mortar board. Plus I loved it that I would often get out of registration and having to be with people I had nothing in common with because the band would sometimes accompany the hymns in Assembly; so after meeting my House Group Tutor after she came out of the stff room to let her know I was in, I would head for the music rooms.
Happy days.

I had (have, since I'm still in High School) my good days and bad days. I'm shy so I didn't do to much talking about religion...at first. Things changed last year and now everyone knows where I stand. Whenever we got a chance in lit to do a random essay/ speech, I would always chose something about morality. But on an individual basis, most of my friends are Christians so I really didn't need to do that much "witnessing". That's changing though.

Basically... strange lol.
In primary school (ages 7-12) I was the 'odd' one - I was popular, best friends with the 'naughtiest girl in the school', scary as hell and with a passion for getting into fights with boys and throwing chairs at teachers. I HATED maths and PE, so I tended to get violent when I was forced to do them. I don't think I wore school uniform more than one day in my last two years... I wore a lot of ADIDAS tracksuits though *laughs*
When I went up to highschool (ages 12-16 years) I lost touch with all my friends from primary school and was also thrown in at the deep end by losing every opportunity to pick fights with blokes - I was put in an all-girls' school. The first 3 years were strange, i'd be lying if I said I remembered much of them, it was mainly me crying and being angry and the world and hating myself. I went through a LOT of religious phases, and spent most of my time in the library. Again, a hatred of maths and PE prevailed...
During the last two years though, everything seemed to change and I shot back up to the top of the popularity chart. I don't really know what happened - I just went in on the first day of term in the last but one year and everything was different. On the first day I locked my physics teacher out of his classroom and by half-way through the year I was on temporary suspension for refusing to remove my piercings. But, I had friends galore and left with 3 A*s, 4 A's, 3 B's and a C (in maths) at GCSE. I never once attended a PE lesson throughout the entire two years of being a highschool senior.
Then, to finish off the year I through a party that, two years later, is still legendary. Seriously, people still know me for it and it's talked about a lot. I like that, it's cool to know I went out with a bang!
Everyone else went to 6th form colleges (ages 16-18years) but I went to a normal college, where the ages range from 16 to... well... the oldest person I know there is 78. The classes are a lot smaller, the hours a lot fewer and the environment much more mature - for example, I can call teachers by their first names, and they give you their mobile numbers, and classes are pretty much optional, and they have services for students that 6th form colleges don't have, such as a student councellor, financial aid, a health-clinic, free on-site childcare, an on-site shop selling birthday cards and stuff - it's neato.
In September i'm going to university to study Criminology and Criminal Justice - I can't wait! Just another adventure :o)

Oh man, you had to have been there. Usually I was getting high in the bathroom, messing with the school administrators, they literally believed I was the devil. Most people hated me because they didn't like my taste in clothes (Goth), but I had some really good friends too. I was always pulling practical jokes on people, and I never took any sh*t from anybody, including the teachers and the principal. I *owned* my school, until they expelled me that is.............

I was Baptist and in an art school. Started senior year as captain of fencing, but had to drop it because of part time job and National Guard drills. Knew about 3/4 of the senior class upon graduation.

I never belonged to a clique, but I had friends in all of them. I was the one people told their problems to.
I did well in school despite the fact my parents would take me out of school to take care of relatives who were sick, or to take care of my sister who was constantly ill.
I was in band and choir (choir president my senior year), and I loved solo and ensemble contests and the "pop show" at the end of the year. I wrote my own songs and performed them three of the four shows.
Some of my friends were in a heavy metal band, and they played back-up for me in the show.
I was also a complete goody-two-shoes, so the metal thing had people a little perplexed.
Always keep 'em guessing....

I was the Uber-Jock, captain of the football team with perfect SATs. Looking back it's kind of pathetic that I cared about those things.
