"In the coming 26 years, all present governments will be overthrown and dissolved." (C.T. Russell, Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 2, p. 98-99, 1889)

Of course Russell made errors. Noah, Moses, David, Peter, and every other imperfect worshipper of God has made errors, and yet their worship was acceptable to God, and their work furthered God's purposes.

What is interesting about C.T.Russell is that for decades (and right up to his death), he carefully reminded his readers and listeners that his suppositions were the result of sincere bible research, rather than "predictions" or "prophesying". Russell repeatedly denied that he had any miraculous "visions" or inspiration from God.

Interestingly, however, even those Christians who did enjoy direct communication from heaven at times came to wrong conclusions; these wrong conclusions were even communicated "out among the brothers"!

For example, the apostle Peter enjoyed remarkable privileges in the early congregation, but it seems that he was the source of an incorrect teaching about the apostle John that was not formally corrected until several DECADES had passed, and John himself finally wrote his gospel about 98 C.E.

(John 21:21-23) Peter said to Jesus: “Lord, what will this man do [that is, the apostle John]?” Jesus said to him: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you? You continue following me.” In consequence, this saying went out among the brothers, that [the apostle John] would not die. However, Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you?”

C.T. Russell had just touched on the surface when he was old enough to go.

No one else has made the progress he did. Some come up with the same figures of math, but do not know what to do with it. When one does study the bible, study other religions and the works of other people, trying to see especially why no two people come up with the same thing, but in the case of 2520 after Babylon Empire #3, C.T. Russell knew ahead of time that what would occur would fulfill a very important end time prophecy and the world had to be established for WW1, Satan was full term, Satan was in his short time of the end times. This really fulfilled prophecies.

It did not seem right for the prophecy to end here. All I can conclude is C.T. Russell died before things were understood after 1914 to death in 1916. So like Moses he got a short view of a longer story.

No other did what he did. As with the KJV Bible, we do not need the best, just a hint of the plans God has through Christ to save man. Just a hint to get it
as right as the holy prophets and apostles. Some people just need a hint to go in the right direction. Heaven and hell is a far cry from fact and truth and all religions should think of this when they fail to understand all that Russell was involved in pulling out of facts and truth and not so much errors as considerations. Consider 1914 and watch what will happen, STUDENTS.
I say consider American soil and how long it has been organized, is this amazing or what?

According to John 21:23, the saying went out among the brothers that a certain disciple would not die. Imagine that. The saying went out among the brothers. This disciple will not die. He will be here until the Lord returns. Were these brothers in error? Yes.

CT Russell may have been mistaken about a number of things. But he was correct in denying the unscriptural trinity. Today, millions of people have been deceived into thinking that the Bible teaches a 3-in-one God. You don't believe me? Open your Bible and try and find any passage of Scripture that says the holy spirit is equal to the Father or the Son. A (trinitarian) chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

CT Russell was ahead of his time.

Note to Tanya. I openly admit JW's have been in error. In addition to believing in a trinity, JW's USED TO celebrate pagan holidays like Easter and Christmas. But after it was determined that observing such holidays were paganistic, they stopped. Do YOU still celebrate pagan holidays and believe the trinitarian lie?

Old news, witnesses also was involved in holidays and politics, but they moved beyond them, while other religions continued to fall even deeper.

He was more than in error. He was a false prophet because he invoked God's name in his false prophecies.

Quick...change the subject!!!!

Or so a Jehovah's Witness would rather do than admit their religion was wrong.

Thanks for the example LineDancer
