No one really knows.

+ Heaven +

Heaven is eternal life with God; communion of life and love with the Trinity and all the blessed.

Heaven is the state of supreme and definitive happiness, the goal of the deepest longings of humanity.

+ Hell +

No one really knows what hell is like. It has been described by people who have not been there as everything from flames to a frozen lake (Dante).

Hell is the state of complete and final self-exclusion from communion with God and the blessed, reserved for those who refuse by their own free choice to believe and be converted from sin, even to the end of their lives

I like to think of it this way. The only way a person will go to hell is if they want to.

God in His (or Her) unlimited love has given us free will to choose. Our most important choice is to freely decide to accept or reject God's constant offer of spending eternity with Him in heaven. God will respect the choice to reject Him.

+ Heaven vs. Hell +

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like." The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, "I don't understand."

"It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

+ With love in Christ.

In Christianity and Islam, hell is fiery.
Judaism does not have a specific doctrine about the afterlife, but it does have a tradition of describing Gehenna. Gehenna is not hell, but rather a sort of Purgatory where one is judged based on his or her life's deeds. The Kabbalah describes it as a "waiting room" (commonly translated as an "entry way") for all souls (not just the wicked). The overwhelming majority of rabbinic thought maintains that people are not in Gehenna forever; the longest that one can be there is said to be 11 months, however there has been the occasional noted exception. Some consider it a spiritual forge where the soul is purified for its eventual ascent to Olam Habah (heb. עולם הבא; lit. "The world to come", often viewed as analogous to Heaven). This is also mentioned in the Kabbalah, where the soul is described as breaking, like the flame of a candle lighting another: the part of the soul that ascends being pure and the "unfinished" piece being reborn.
The Chinese view Hell as similar to a present day passport or immigration control station. In a Chinese funeral, they burn many Hell Bank Notes for the dead. With this Hell money, the dead person can bribe the ruler of Hell, and spend the rest of the money either in Hell or in Heaven.

Not sure that the Bible really says exactly, but it does hint and tell some things about heaven and hell.

We know that hell is a place of eternal damnation where there will be eternal torment forever.

The Bible also talks about Hades...and in the story about the rich man who went to hell and wanted someone to go tell his relatives about it so they wouldn't end up there....it says "he lifted up his eyes"... indicates he was at some lower level.

And heaven is often indicated as out of the sky....like when the "new Jerusalem will descend out of heaven"...and Jesus went up into heaven while everyone stood watching it happen"....it was up into the sky.....

Since the universe is so vast, it could be anywhere.....some day we will find out!

No such thing. They are both constructs devised by people in authority to control and terrorise the masses. Read up on Lenin, he did have a couple of things right.

God says Heaven is above us. but that can also mean more than one thing. I believe, Heaven to be up above but also in a close dimension. the same dimension from which people have said, they have seen ghost. and yes there are ghost but we call the Soles. and yes, there is a place underground, to send all evil. it is in the core of the earth.

why, do people keep asking questions, like this. when by now they should be able to remember all that Christen have been telling them? or do they like to hear it? I am sure this had to have been answered before.

If you believe in such things, heaven and hell are an alternate dimension, connected to our own.

Heaven is in the experience of absolute connection to the Divine, Hell is not a geographical place but the illusion of the separation of the Goddess and the God

...Heaven is the Spiritual place to where "we" have the privilege to go as "we" complete our natural-biological life on this earth... Gods Words tells us "to be absent from our body, is to be present with The Lord"... it happens in the twinkling of an eye..."snap" your there.... When "we" step into eternity (thru the gateway of death) our spirit is still very much alive....and always will be...(our body's cannot enter into the Supernatural realm of the Spirit)...and we have no need of the body after our biological death... We now find ourselves at the "gateway" of Heaven... It is at this point "we" will be with The Lord... (God will already know the answer to "one" question that you will be asked...only one)... the answer to that question will determine if you come into Heaven or be forever sent into eternal outer-darkness, hell... Your name will either be in The Book of Life or not... God makes no mistakes... I hope you don't either... See The Book of John, Chapter 3 vs. 16, 17 and 18... read the whole Book of John, it's great reading... go to Blockbuster and rent the movie, it's great...

This world we live in is in fact hell! the pain we go through here in this life in this universe is all due to our past bad karma's. we have had infinite births before this, and we may have infinite births after this, but we are all still here due to our attachment to the world and its desires! only once we become one with the atma, and in turn god and his choicest devotee (Aksharbrahma) can we ever leave this world. heaven is in a realm of its own, another universe which u can only get to if u become atma-realised, and only through the grave of God and his Holy sadhu can u attain moksha (liberation).
