Which god? Do you not believe in Zeus or Hera? There are about 2900 known gods worshipped in this world, and you have picked one and you believe it..... and then you don't understand why so many people do not believe it....

Do you believe in several gods? If not, then we only believe in one less god than you. I do not believe in any god...

Your mum told you not to believe what you are told but to seek your own truth and that is good advice.

Thank you for pointing out that the bible was changed many times by man - you omit to mention that it was originally created by men too. I can see no hard evidence to support your contention that God created this world. I think evolution and creationism are in there along with several other options of how it could come to be. And everything isn't perfectly working either is it! Do you think children working as slave labour in factories around the world think everything is working perfectly, or women who have been kidnapped and sold into prostitution - perfect? There is no definitive reality. It is not possible to see who created the world - you can believe but you cannot see.

It is really easy. Before I was a non believer I had "issues" with god. I could not understand how so much innocent suffering could be allowed by a so called loving god. There is also the aspect of natural evils such as tornadoes, earthquakes etc as well as birth defects, viruses and terminal or deleterious diseases. Why would such a powerful loving god even create a world full of things that can harm the innocent. That is easy. There either is not a god. That one gets my vote, or there is some kind of supernatural "creator" that really is a sadistic a hole. If the latter is the case then why worry about it.

Religion is not an area to question in, religion is all down to what people believe. You sound like a young person, like myself, trying to find out the truth about religion. But you have to understand that different people believe different things, and you cannot condemn them because they have different gods to you or no gods at all, like me.

And remember some people will be asking your question the other way around. Talk to your RE Teacher about this.

I don't believe in God at all. I'm not going to go into the reason's why but I firmly believe there is no God.

As far as proof goes, there is no proof for or against, and this makes an ideal topic for heated debates, just like UFO's.

Put it this way, God either doesn't exist, or he is unbelievably cruel. Either way I don't want anything to do with him.

Believing or not believing is a matter of faith. Having faith or not having faith is believing or disbelieving without doubts. So, whether you believe in God or not is your choice.
Another thing is believing the Judeo-Christian Holy Scriptures. There are many holy books that have other accounts for creation, life, death and after-life. Those who have chosen to believe them are in the same situation of accepting or rejecting the existence of higher spiritual beings.
I am awed by the beauty of this planet and the whole universe but neither creationist nor evolutionary hypotheses satisfy my incredulity. I go on living and do not torture myself dealing with Bible accounts of creation or advocates of Charles Darwin. Life is short, be happy! No one knows for sure what comes after death.

There is no evidence that there is a god. No evidence essentially means that someone made it up. It is not reasonable to believe in things without any evidence. You would be stuck with every ridiculous thing that human imagination could come up with.

Not believing in god is the same as not believing in Zeus, Odin, Santa, Anubis, the Tooth Faerie, and all the thousands of others since the evidence is exactly the same. I would be no less surprised if someone found evidence of Bacchus than I would be if they found evidence of your god.

How can you possibly believe that a person made all of this? That's just ridiculous.

Just look around you - all of the really complex things were made through natural, unguided processes. Even a single living cell is far too complex to have been intentionally designed.

If you think that someone designed and created all of this beauty around you, you need to look more closely - it is FAR more complex and intricate than you think it is.

Actually the vastness of the universe is what leads me to not believe in God. I think its the heighth of arrogance to think that everything revolves around man. Lets think about this. There are billions and billions of stasr with their own planets and human beings think that the entity that made this, keeps it all working ect has time to find them a parking place at the mall.
