get the MMR vaccination ( measles, mumps and rubella )

You could get the MMR vaccine, if you haven't already. It not only protects against mumps but measles and rubella. So you'll be safer if your mum gets either of those as well!

Make sure to get a booster for the Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine, you had as a child. (depending on your age).

as a lot of people have said go to your GP and get a vaccination against mumps, injection wont hurt as much as the illness

you would get the MMR vaccine, in case you've not already. It now no longer staggering protects in competition to mumps notwithstanding measles and rubella. so that you will have the capacity to be more suitable shelter in case your mum receives both between those almost as good!

By getting vaccinated! Go to your GP and ask for a course.. it is very widely available; though you might have to pay (its not very expensive and will save you from a horrible disease)
