This condition could be called 'Odema', when the blood in the veins of your feet does not fully circulate back to the heart, and the feet swell. Slowly the bad blood accumulates, and this causes more swelling up the ankles, thighs, etc.
Obviously, it will also result in a lethargic life-style, and will gain weight.

This is not good. But the following is what I do to get rid of fluid retention.
Go to the health food store and buy UNSWEETENED CRANBERRY CONCENTRATE. Mix 8 ounces with 1 gallon of water. Drink 6 ounces before every meal and between meal.
It flushes the toxins out of your body. I have used this on this plan and usually shrink a dress size.
Good Luck. If you are on medicines, they can play havoc with your system. They help and hurt at the same time.
I just Googled and these are symptoms of Diabetes, have you been to a Dr.? Just stop starches, sugars of all sorts, eat lean meats, veggies, beans, nuts, hard cheeses. These should help your sugar levels.
Potatoes, pasta, white rice, all enriched breads, these convert to sugar in your body.
Drink lots of water with a little lemon in it, it helps flush your system and up your metabolism. Have your sugars checked.
I would guess you are very inactive, that causes the pooling around the legs and ankles. Walk all you can every day. You need to, to begin pumping the fluids out. Get movin' OK?

oh dear... get yourself to a doctor NOW! Oedema (swelling) has a lot of causes but if it's getting worse then it *could* be something bad has happened to your kidneys. You have to get this checked out before it gets worse. Lots of hugs for you though: more than likely, it's nothing to worry about but you should make sure.

Have you seen a doctor? If not, please do, right away. The first things that come to mind are kidney failure or heart disease. Your life could be at risk.
