Because SOME Christians are Puritannical and see Satan worship in everything. However, not ALL Christians believe this way. Now I DO believe that if a person is not FOR God, they're against Him, and are being used (whether they know it or not) by Satan. But atheists don't actually "worship" Satan. They believe only in themselves, most of the time.

SOME Christians (don't generalize!) believe that everyone that does not worship Christ, automatically worship Satan, even if it's unconscious/inactive worship. That includes atheists. To these people, 'worship' is a bit of a loose term that really means 'does Satan's bidding'.
But most Christians believe that atheists just plain don't believe in god.

Because christians think that everyone needs someone or something to worship and it Atheists dont worship God then it must be Satan. What should be understood as you have stated, Atheists do not believe in any religion at all and that included Satan.

Hmm. Several people rejecting your premise, apparently unaware that a LOT of Christians here accuse atheists of worshipping Satan. I'm sure I've heard that line at least 40 or 50 times.
It's a perfectly legitimate question, folks.
And please, do we HAVE TO hear that "don't generalize" thing over and over again? He didn't ask "Why do ALL Christians think atheists worship Satan?".

When it comes to things like this, they are still in the Dark Ages. To them, if you are not worshipping their God, you must be worshipping Satan. Whether you know it's Satan or not.
Just another lovely scare tactic from the Roman Catholic Church when they had control of Europe. And people today STILL use this crap to try to convince others how great their Religion is. Not their God... cause first you have to believe in their Religion before they'll even consider that you believe in the right "God".

It's not that we think you worship Satan as much as some people (not just atheists) support Satan whether they know it or not. A person who buys drugs may have the money they spent being used to fund a gang war. That person may not believe in gang violence, but he or she is still supporting it. Certain lifestyle choices, like drugs, are something that Satan wants us to delve in. You don't have to believe in him to support what he wants you to. I hope this comes close to answering your question.

that is because the christians are still living in the dark ages not the 21centry like the atheists who no satan is not real

Any Christian that thinks that is a moron. The Bible has only two categories for people, those who are saved and those who are not. Atheists and Satanists fall into the latter category but that does not mean they are the same thing.

I've seen some christians say that kind of thing, but I have the impression most of the xtians realize we don't believe in that stuff.
