Purpose of life is to live.

2007-04-06 15:45:56 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

The real purpose of life is to go back home, back to Godhead. Ignorant of the real purpose of life, people take to either gross materialistic activities or ritualistic activities. King Barhiñmän is herein requested not to be attached to such activities. In the Vedas it is stated that the performance of sacrifice is the actual purpose of life. A section of the Indian population known as the Ärya-samäjists lay too much stress on the sacrificial portion of the Vedas. This verse indicates, however, that such sacrifices are to be taken as illusory. Actually the aim of human life should be God realization, or Kåñëa consciousness. The Vedic performances are, of course, very glittering and pleasing to hear about, but they do not serve the real purpose of life.

On the surface, the purpose of life is to propagate our species. This does not necessarily mean breeding, as at this point in our existence we are overpopulating the planet, but perhaps to make life better for humankind.

Individually we give our own lives purpose. Look around you. Find what you want to do with yourself. Pursue it. Live in the moment. Make others happy.

If you go back to basics as it were, you'll see that for yourself by reading what God told Adam in the garden of Eden. That purpose, you see, may have been temporarily interrupted but the true God still has the same purpose He had then.
He wants us to live forever on the beautiful earth that He created for us to time indefinite.
It's a bit hard to imagine now, that life on this planet could ever be so wonderfully perfect to the point where you'd even want to live on it forever, but once it's restored to the paradisaical conditions it is supposed to be, it won't be difficult at all as every living soul will have his own desires fulfilled every day of their lives for all of eternity, where the knowledge of Him who created us and all of his purposes for all of mankind will fill the entire planet. Now there remains love, hope and faith. Love remains forever as the hope we had will then be a given and the faith we had will no longer be necessary as we will have seen the evidence of the things hoped for being fulfilled before our very eyes.

The problem with this question is that the answer is different for every person on Earth, although there might be some similarities. Each person needs to decide what their purpose is, and then follow that. Some are doctors, some are musicians, some are scientists - it all depends on the individual.

To me the purpose of life is to Live.
To live and let others live.
To love and let others love
To overcome the challenges life poses.
To make a difference in someone elses life howsoever small it may be.
To thank Whosoever is responsible for this life of ours to have given us the opportunity to Live and find a Purpose thereto.

The purpose of life is to pass the test. Man has given free will and is responsible for his deeds. He is rewarded if he succeeds in his mission and punished if he fails. Without the result life would be meaningless.

God created us to know him, love him and be happy with him in the next life. How do we go about doing that?

When God made us, he implanted within us a burning desire for his will. Knowing his will and following it will give meaning to our life. This implies that it is our responsibility to give meaning to our life. Our task then is to find out his will for us.

God's plan for our lives is etched in our desires. To discover God's plan we need to have a personal relationship with him. But because he gave us free will, he will not tell us to be a doctor, an engineer or priest. That's up to us. That means we have to pray and reflect on it a bit. Maybe even ask other people to help us discern it. No big deal, really.

All of us have received gifts from God. Our primary gift or best gift is an indication of God's plan for us. We will find in it the handwriting of God. It will point to our life project, our assigned purpose, our God ordained mission. It will also point to our happiness.

Peace and every blessing!
