Looking at the number examples first, we are carrying out two different actions involving the number "1". These are multiplication "x" and addition "+". These are different actions with different results:
1x1x1=1 and 1+1+1=3
if you wish to analyse this algebraically, you should use the same letter, for example "a".
axaxa=a cubed (or a to the power of 3) and a+a+a=3a

axbxc, as written in the question, represents, for example:
1x5x9=45 or 1+5+9=15 (you can let a letter equal what you like but you must retain that value for the current instance).

The Panopticon is a structure wherein the watched cannot see the watchers, but know they are being watched: At the periphery an annular building, at the center a tower. By the effect of backlighting, one can observe from the tower, standing out precisely against the light, the small captive cells in the periphery. But this light creates a veil placed over surveillance, for the light that illuminates each cell also blinds each prisoner to the presence of guards, or the lack thereof, as it may be. Each cell then becomes a stage for an unknowable audience; each prisoner alone, individualized, at once performing for no one and everyone; each guard capable of seeing each cell and all prisoners at once at their will. Thus creating an economy in surveillance – one doesn’t need many guards in a panotpicon and they don’t need to always be there or always be aware – the actors (or prisoners as it were) will perform the same whether someone is watching or not, for they do not know whether someone is watching or not.

It only 1x1x1 becuase it's the only way to make three units equal one. 1+1+1 wouldn't work would it?

Edit:

That is what I am saying the only way to make three into one is 1x1x1, you can't do it with axbxc.

This is from my son:
It is impossible to separate a cube into two cubes, or a fourth power into two fourth powers, or in general, any power higher than the second into two like powers.

Guess that's why I don't believe in the Trinity.

Didn't you hear? Christianity has its own mathematics, where 1+1+1= 1 !!
